Is this to much food to eat in a day??
No, it's too little food. You'll lose water/muscle weight initially, then you'll probably re-gain all of that and then some because your metabolism is screwed.

You'll also have a hard time losing weight if you're not eating enough calories while working out. It seems counterintuitive, but you have to eat enough food to be able to lose weight.
you will lose weight but your not eating enough

your body needs cetain amounts of things to stay halthy and keep you going

protein and vitamins and minerals that are in foods so you should eat small meals at least 5-6 times a day

instead of eating a burger eat that subway sandwich like you did

have yogurt lots of fruits and veggies and protein from lean meats or lowfat or skim milk

what you ate was healthy but you need to eat more than that to stay healthy and lose the weight in a healthy manner
ok doing this weight well come off but you might even gain more weight back over time
Girl you ate the right amount...its good u thought about it first be fore you ate something and its very good that you burning the calories off too!

good luck!

I eat salad with chicken or fish every day for dinner. Will I loose weight this way?

For breakfast I usually have cheerios with skim milk...for lunch: a subway sandwhich or chicken salad...When will I see results...I eat salad with chicken or fish every day for dinner. Will I loose weight this way?
I'm sure you would but just make sure you don't eat junk food and garbage for lunch or breakfast. When you eat the salad be sure to use low calorie dressing, fat free stuff and don't over do the chicken or fish with gravy and sauces on top of it!
I have been on the same sort of diet for about 7 weeks now, and I can see the results already, but I would certainly change the Cheerios for something with a lot less sugar in them. I have special k with berries, they just as good but a lot better for you. Good luck.I eat salad with chicken or fish every day for dinner. Will I loose weight this way?
As long as you arent using high calorie and high fat condiments and are eating reasonable portions you will lose weight if you exercise to burn more calories than you are taking in.
not if you just sit on your a ss all day. with proper eating habits and exercise will allow you to lose weight. you have to work out more calories than you intake.

Your diet is low in both calories and nutrients. I don't see 5 to 10 servings of fruits and vegetables in here, nor green vegetables other than a bit of lettuce. It appears to me that you are on a strict diet and mostly feed yourself sweets. Also, just eating peas is an inadequate lunch.

I recommend you stop being so strict with the calories, but make sure you fill yourself up with a goal of 10 servings of fruits and vegetables a day. This will make your diet high in nutrients, and low (but not dangerously low) in calories, in addition to whole grains and healthy fats.

Like some others here, I wonder if you have or are developing an eating disorder. You're too young to be obsessing over celery.

And if your diet wasn't optimal one day, don't beat yourself over the head--resolve to do better another day.
First question: Do you think you may have an eating disorder?

I wonder why you have an obsession with counting calories!

Please don’t obsess about calories. Life is too short to count calories.

Keep a positive attitude, eat a diet full of nutritionally rich healthy foods and do a 30 minute brisk walk every day – you will stay emotionally sane, healthy, fit and slim.

I have no idea about calories, I never count them.

Personally I would be more concerned about your lack of nutrition, than calories.

    Let’s break it down:

    1) Breakfast: pancake with syrup.

This is hardly nutritional or filling, especially the refined sugar in the syrup. Do you make the pancake from scratch or use a mix? Those pre-mixes have some crap in, so best to avoid.

Breakfast is the most important meal if the day.

How about some home-made muesli, served with fresh fruit (strawberries, banana) and some milk or plain Greek set yogurt:

    http://www.choice.com.au/viewArticle.asp…

    2) Snack: 5 pieces of celery with peanut butter and a tootsie pop.

Celery is good. You can make ants on a stick – fill the groove of the celery with peanut butter or avocado and dot it with raisins.

    http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/alton…

Trail Mix is a great snack food - mix together raw nuts (almonds), unsulphured dried fruit (raisins), pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds. I also like to add dried wild figs and organic shredded dried coconut.

Green Smoothies (see below) and bananas also make good filling healthy low fat snacks.

    3) Dinner: subway sub, 6 inch on honey oaat with pickles tomatoes lettice, cucumbers and a little ranch. 2 small sugar cookies and a 100 calorie granola bar

The Subway bread is not nutritional. The “average” bread from Subway contains things, such as, high fructose corn syrup, soybean oil, salt, dough conditioners, anti caking agents, caramel colour, (used to make cheap white bread look like expensive brown wholegrain – but really its just been dyed) refinery syrup, dextrose, sodium stearoyl lactylate, sodium stearoyl-2-lactylate, mineral oil and other strange food additives.

The tomatoes, lettuce and cucumber in the roll were healthy, but slightly ruined by covering them with commercial ranch dressing.

Most commercial granola bars have refined sugar, or even worse, artificial sweeteners. Again, you can make your own, do a google search for healthy bars.

    4) What do you mean "peas for lunch"! Fresh peas? Frozen peas? Tinned peas? Not very exciting.

How about a filling and healthy mixed salad: mixed lettuce %26amp; wild rocket, cherry tomatoes, avocado, steamed pumpkin, pine nuts, cubes of (marinated) goats cheese or goats fetta, and a splash of caramelised balsamic vinegar.

You should be eating five pieces of fresh raw fruit and five pieces of fresh raw vegetables everyday. Your daily diet seems to be glaringly lacking in fresh produce.

One serve - a handful or one piece (i.e.) a large apple is one serve

Try adding some Green Smoothies into your daily diet; they will help you get your fruit %26amp; vegetable intake up:

    http://www.greensmoothiechallenge.com

500ml to 1 litre of Green Smoothie makes a filling snack.

I am suggesting home-made produce because you can really start to grasp the nutritional side of things when you make it yourself. It is also very satisfying to eat something you have made.

    http://www.fatfreevegan.com

In conclusion: You ate a lot of junk, so yes you ate badly. You need to include fresh raw (or very lightly steamed) vegetables and raw fruit into your diet EVERY day. If you can’t manage five serves each, at least have two serves each. And STOP counting calories.

    .Did i eat horrible today?
Sorry, but yes, you ate really bad. First of all, you ate next to NO protein. You got a little protein from the peanut butter. But you need more than that. Are you still growing? If you keep eating like that you are going to be unhealthy. The syrup, tootsie pop, and cookies are all bad. If you replace them with chicken, eggs, fish, and cheese, you will be in MUCH better shape. I see no fruit either.

EDIT ~ OMG you are 14? See, this is exactly why I am so against young kids trying to be vegetarian. They have no idea what they are doing. And judging by some of the other answers, other vegetarians have no idea either. How can anyone say you ate well today? They obviously have NO clue.
Breakfast: Next time look into eating whole grain pancakes, they taste good and are better for you. Watch out for the syrup.

    Snack: Fine

    Lunch: Where's lunch??????

    Dinner: Fine

Small cookies and granola bar bad..... Granola bars have lots of sugar added to them. So unless you bought from whole food store with no added sugar, try to limit granola bars.

Overall: For a day your diet was not bad. Keep in mind you are lacking a lot of nutrients for optimal health. Yes, you are low on calories but overall, I wouldn't say it was a good diet. There is nothing wrong with eating a sugary treat every now and then, but you had loads of sugar today, which is very bad. (Syrup, tootsie pop, honey oat bread, ranch, sugar cookies, granola bar).

A lot of people do not realize that items like ranch or honey oat bread have hidden sugars! So just eat healthy, a good rule of thumb is to eat as much items with labels you can read and understand. If not, you will find yourself scarfing down foods loaded with hidden sugar! Good luck!
Seems like it is mostly zero value white flour / white sugar carbs .

No protein and just a couple of vitamins in the tomatoes .

Pancake %26amp; syrup / junk food

Celery , no food value , peanut butter = fat , tootsie pop = junk

Subway only food value in tomatoes .

and sugar cookies ? MORE white flour / white sugar = junk food .

    Mostly , Really , Really worthless .

At this rate your body Quality will drop to zero in no time .

But then again , every one dies at some point .

So if you are going to eat like that , just get cake and ice cream .

At least there is some constructive value in the milk ingredient .

    %26gt;
Your profile says you are 14? And that's all you ate? Are you freaking kidding me? My rabbit eats more than that a day and he weighs 4 pounds.

Take all of this nonsense about eating slim and vegan crap and erase it out of your head. Eating like that at your age is going to do nothing but make you a prime candidate for bone loss and osteoporosis at a young age, along with a multitude of other health problems.

Don't they teach anything about eating right in schools anymore? Sorry to be blunt, but that's just ridiculous.
Breakfast: sounds fine! are you sure only ONE pancake?

Snack: very healthy, with a little treat

Dinner: no lunch? subway is always quite healthy. the cookies and granola bar aren't unhealthy.

You ate VERY healthy today. keep up the good work. You might want to try to eat a bit MORE. it can be unhealthy to skip lunch(:
id say,yea .. sorry... it would be horrible for my diet..

most of it is junk.. the only thing allright is the sandwitch

alot of people think that if you dont eat much, and just have a few sweets to get you by, youll loose weight and kind-of diet, but really all those small fatty things you have will be used up by your body because its the only thing youve had..
No, you may have not eaten enough.

I only see 2 meals. You shoud eat 3 times a day.

You can reserach all this stuff your self using google and figure it out all by yourself.
you ate a little less than you should. Put a little more substance into your eating.
    You big pig!!!!!

Try eating about 10 times that much and you'll probably live.
I see a lot of good things going into your body. Just do a bit of exercise before bed if your worried, but other than that, you probably have consumed 800 calories at least today out of 2000 we all should.

Please help, i'm not getting the right answer.?

what can i eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner, i know subway but other fast food places. that won't be as bad in fat and that wont effect my diet or excersise

i want breakfast, dinner and lunch - Please help, i'm not getting the right answer.?
You should never eat fast food..

Subway isn't as great as everyone makes it out to be.

You need to be eating healthy well balanced meals that you've prepared, so you know what is in them.

    Breakfast: oatmeal with skim or 1% milk with bananas and some apple slices on the side OR A small bowl of granola with almonds and nonfat yogurt and bananas and berries;

Lunch: A grilled chicken breast with black beans, carrots

Dinner: A salad with spinach, tomatoe, grilled chicken, with some more veggies you have, plus a slice of whole wheat bread.

Make sure to drink a lot of water. These meals are just a few of the many healthy options you can concoct. Also, you should eat between breakfast and lunch and between lunch and dinner - small snacks like fruit, a handful of veggies like carrots, or some nonfat yogurt.
Breakfast: Orange Juice, 1 banana and an egg

Lunch: Bowl of Tomato soup with a griled cheese sandwich

    Supper: salad with lite dressing

Make sure you are drinking plenty of water or something that has no sugar and make sure you stay away from pop's or any kind of beverage that might contatin sugar. Also, make sure you excercise regularly like 30 minutes per day if you can. Please help, i'm not getting the right answer.?
Try Dunkin Donuts or Bread Company for breakfast and get a bagle. For lunch try Sonic, but get a grilled chicken sandwich or a salad. And for Dinner you could go for subway, Bread Company(has A LOT of healthy choices that are still good!) Steak %26amp; Shake, get a healthy sandwich and a cup of soup!

    Hope I helped

    (:
um. . . maybe fast food isn't the best answer for breakfast after all isn't it the most important meal of the day? don't you want to feel good about yourself throughout the day%26gt;? ? ? But i know hungry Jack's has breakfast meals, and it is not as fatty. Good luck, Hope this helped

    Bye

Why do i keep putting on weight?

i weigh 152lbs and i am 5'6, i got it down to 135lbs by dieting but as soon as i stopped dieting came back again a few weeks......... i wanna give up but i hate being fat so much! why does it all come back again?????????????!

    btw my diet was:

    breakfast: soup (about 100 cal)

morning: caramel rice cake (50 cal)

lunch: subway or pasta salad (about 600 cal)

dinner: weight watchers ready meal (300 cal)

pudding: fruit salad (about 300cal )Why do i keep putting on weight?
you basically starved your self. What you need to do is exercise. you are an endomorph, meaning you can put on muscle and fat very easily. You need to do light cardio - like walk with a heart rate of 132 - 135 for 1 hr. 5 -6 days per week. Along with a proper diet.

I see your eating alot of preserved food. you don't need to do that.

your diet should be something similar to this -

Breakfast - milk with oatmeal prepared in water. With light brown sugar. or 2 eggs

2 hours after - medium size banana

3 hours after - lunch - 2 large slices of whole weat bread, with chicken breast or other lean meat. Add lettuces, tomatoes, or other veggies or you can have a penut butter sandwich

2 hours later - drink some warm green tea without sugar or something else to keep you full or have a fruit or vegetable.

dinner - pasta or lean meat.

Remember to drink alot of water.

This diet should be followed by exercise.
You should probably add a fun workout to your routine. A brisk walk, jog, bike ride, rollerblades, ZUMBA!.. something fun and something you won't get bored with. As people get older sometimes their metabolism slows down which doesn't break down the fats as accurately as when you were younger. This means you need help from another area, example: Exercising. Why do i keep putting on weight?
Do you exercise as well? It is very hard. To maintain a weight on diet alone. Put yourself on a cardio program. You need at least 30 min a day. Try walking then work your way up to jogging. Yoga is also very good for You! Good luck!
you probably just have a slow metabolic rate. that in simple terms, makes you gain weight...or rather lose weight slower. I on the other hand cant get fat no matter how much I eat ='( cause i have a fast metabolic rate
An under active thyroid gland will cause unexplained weight gain!

Have a word with your doctor.

Portion size and food intake correct?

I have limited my food intake to about 6 "meals" a day. I still have a feelng im eating too much for dinner? Heres a rundown of a typical day:

breakfast - Healthy cereal with fat free milk and a banana for breakfast. or egg beaters with wheat toast and some fruit.

lunch (tuna on mutli grain, or turkey. mustard or low fat mayo. sometimes a 12" veggie sub from subway which I split it up and eat one half at lunch and the other half later)

snack (celery or second half of subway sandwich)

dinner - now heres where i think i eat too much. I have maybe a skinless chicken breast a bit bigger than my palm(this is the size it COMES in, which deifnitly seems bigger than my palm), half a plate of frozen veggies which is usually about a cup (peas, carrots, etc.) and then maybe 1/2 to 1/3 a cup of baked beans or 2 servings of brown rice (one serving sometimes is way too small and the second serving tends to fit in with my calories for the day anyway). Thats about 2000 calories a day.Portion size and food intake correct?
Mens caloric intake should be no more than 2000-2500 per day. Meat should be no larger than a deck of cards and all else no more than 1/2 cup per meal! Worked in group home and that is what dietician/ nurse advised!!
That's about right for what you should be eating per day. If you do any sort of exercise per day (more than a half hour) then you'll want to eat a bit more than 2000.Portion size and food intake correct?
You have to limit your food to around 1200 calories with exercise. You are eating way too much. Lose 800. Have a 6 inch sub, and forget the snack thing. That sub is 460 calories already. For your snack and desert, you should have water. Yes, have water.

Will i lose weight if i do this..??

well i go to school so i eat what they serve.....they give subway so i eat subway......tuna to be exact.....for breakfast sumtimes i eat depending on wut they serve....then i get home and eat sumthing....i have p.e and we play basketbal and i sweat alot and run alot......when we go outside we run a lap do u think i can lose weight lie this......if not wut else can i do?Will i lose weight if i do this..??
eat smaller portions. but eat six times a day. eat healthy. eat a huge breakfast. eating a big breakfast is good bcuz your body will use up energy much faster if it knows it will be fed again that is also the same reason you should eat six times a day. if your body constantly knows it will be fed again it will not store the energy as fat. think about it. after you wake up, yr body hast been fed for atleast 12 hours. so it learns to store energy. and when you dont eat breakfast, it stores even more energy. eating a big breakfast speeds up your metabolism. and so does drinking green tea.
Sounds like you should lose weight. If you aren't, just eat a smaller portion for lunch or dinner. Will i lose weight if i do this..??
it sounds like a good exercise
why not! basket ball is very good excercise.

keep running often. but, take meals in shedhule.then ok.
School food is the hardest way to lose weight.

Unless you go to a boarding school I suggest bringing a sack lunch.

Eat breakfast always! If not, your body thinks you are starving so it will hold on to every pound you try and lose.

Remember to eat a lot of fiber and protein. Tuna is a good idea if you can't eat anything from home. Also eating grapefruit with Splenda before a meal will some how create a fat burning chemical reaction.

Just don't over eat and you should be good.!
    Hi,

Based on your description, it does sound like you would lose weight.

However, it helps to understand that weight loss is all about calories in vs calories out.

Theoretically, if you burn more calories than you eat, you will lose weight. (note I never said lose fats). It all depends on what you eat and how you burn those calories (ie. like playing basketball helps build muscles and burn fats).

To help you further on your weight loss journey, you could make use of free online tools to

    1) check your BMR (this is the num. of calories you burn each day by not doing anytthing)

    2) determine your recommended daily calorie intake (BMR + your activity level, excl. exercise).

from there, you can balance what you eat and what you burn through exercise.

I am of course simplifying things a lot here and there is more involved.

Personally, I use Sparks People to help me in my weight loss journey, helping me keep track of my calorie intake and how much I burn.

    Hope that helps you.

Would you say ive eaten too much?

im 5foot7 but im quite small built. im 99lbs. ill try give my guess at the calories but am not too sure

breakfast: porridge and 2 slices of toast 500

lunch: turkey and ham wrap from subway 300

tea: kiev, baked beans and veg 500

snack: handful of choc buttons 150

    supper: mullerice 220

    so 1670.

what have you had?Would you say ive eaten too much?
Nope, you havn't eaten enough, you need around 1800 to 2000 to maintain a weight, some need more then that. x x
I'd say that's a good amount of calories for today, but it all depends upon what you did. I normally need 1700 when I'm active, 1200-1400 when I'm inactive. So far today I've had a bowl (about two cups) of mixed veggies, two pieces of bread with "butter," and some brown rice (about two cups).Would you say ive eaten too much?
    That's not enough Calories!

    For Girls~

If you're 11-14 years of age, You need 1,845 calories (72g fat) (42g protein)

    15-18 Years 2,110 calories (82g fat) (45g protein)

You have a variety of food to eat, and they do seem healthy. Honestly, i think you don't eat enough. But Damn you're tall! LMAO.
Damn you're scrawny! ha ha! I am 95 pounds at 5'2''!! Did you try out to be a VS model? LOL -

As for your food intake... looks alright but you need more protein and vegetables... And you probably need to increase your calories a bit just so you can get to a healthier weight...

For instance you could have what I am having tonight for dinner: a huge huge huge piece of salmon (yea like 12 ounces) with spaghetti squash, garlic roasted brussels sprouts and spinach... the salmon alone is like 700 calories! ha ha - but I love me some LARGE portions!

Is what I ate today okay?

    I'm trying to lose weight.

Breakfast: Fruit salad (papaya, melons and apples)

Lunch: Tuna salad (lettuce, red onions, cumcumber and tomatoes and a little bit of white vinegar added)

And for dinner I'm gonna have subway. Chicken teriyaki with lettuce, green pepper and black olives. Honey mustard for sauce and no cheese. And bottle of water to drink.

I'm going to the movies, is it okay to eat popcorn or not?Is what I ate today okay?
you have a healthy diet but I would suggest no butter maybe some water instead of soda aswell
Yea I'm awesome!鈾櫔鈾┾櫔鈾櫔鈾┾櫔鈾櫔鈾┾æ«”- you know that song?Is what I ate today okay?
Its ok have a nice time tonight and enjoy the popcorn!!!!!!!
That's Ok and you can eat your popcorn, but no butter !

I walk/run at least 4-5kms per day I have been loosing weight but I am really tired.

I know I should eat more but I feel fat if i eat anything, like I won't even consider subway's 6gm of fat salad anymore.

Can anyone suggest something besides salad which I can happily enjoy as opposed to eating crap like chicken or beef or something and feeling guilty?

Could I be developing an eating disorder?Eating Disorders and diet help?
Yes, that sounds like you have developed an eating disorder. Please, please get help. I have an eating disorder, and I know how hard it is to get out of this cycle once it has begun, but the sooner you get help, the sooner you can go back to living a healthy and happy life. You deserve that, so please talk to your doctor and ask for a referral to a psychologist and dietician who specialize in eating disorders.

You are not eating nearly enough food right now, and if you continue this pattern, you will develop many serious health problems. Due to my eating disorder, I have developed bradycardia, lowered bone density, low blood pressure and Raynauld's Syndrome, among other consequences.

When you begin to eat properly again, you will feel much more energetic, and though it will be very hard to eat normally, it will save you from many physical and emotional problems in your future. If you're going to try to slowly readjust your eating patterns, try starting off with something like a simple soup, and gradually progress toward greater quantities of more-calorie dense items. However, I would highly recommend that you see a dietician so that you can get a professional opinion about how to regain normal eating habits in the safest and most effective manner possible.

If you need more information about eating disorders, you may want to look at the website http://www.something-fishy.org/ or, if you would like to speak to someone with personal experience with eating disorders, you can contact me at laurelle117@yahoo.com

Good luck, and I hope that this has helped.
Yes you are developing one. You are eating unhealthy. If you don't want to feel guilty, then eat more fruit, vegetables, and lunch meat at the very least. You have to realize, especially when you are eating fruit, that most of it is water, so when you eat it, your stomach will expand, and you may feel fat, but you need to realize that by morning, it will all be gone, and you absolutely are not fat.

I don't know if I should really be telling you this, but I had a trainer and he told me," You don't have to eat anything, you just need to get all of your vitamins and minerals. You can do that by taking supplements."

I never tried it, because I would get hungry.

But there you go.Eating Disorders and diet help?
    um :/

    yeah .

Since you exercise that much, just eat normally. why would you feel guilty? Become a vegetarian .

    k actually nvm. gl

What is your goal? Do you want to lose weight/fat? Build muscle? Or simply eat healthier? Cut subway mcdonalds and burger king. Cut fries, soda, cookies, bread, pasta, corn flakes and sugar in general if you want to lose fat real fast. Eat eggs, spinach, green beans, peas, carrots, tomatoes, fish, grass-fed beef and nuts instead. also try to avoid juice (mostly it has too much sugar). Centrum men A to Zinc multi-vitamin?

I take this multivitamin once day and every time i take it my stomach get crazy and i feel like throwing up.

    My diet is like

Breakfast - I eat banana, apple and fiber one bar

lunch- i eat subway veggie sandwich

evening-i take proteins for my gym

dinner- i eat again subway veggie sandwich.

Is my diet sufficient ? i am make 26 yr old/125 lbs and i go to gym 4-5 days a week.Centrum men A to Zinc multi-vitamin?
Your diet needs more variety. You should lose the protein supplement and eat a more varied diet of natural foods including vegetables, fruits, dairy, meat, etc. You don't need protein for gym...you need protein 24 hours a day because that's when your body uses it. Your body is not going to use a big gulp of protein no matter how hard to exert yourself physically. It does its repair work (anabolism) on an on-going basis over time. I think you've bought into one of the countless myths which confuse so many people in pursuit of diet and fitness information. Try to get your nutrition from whole, nonprocessed foods. You shouldn't need more than 80 gms of protein per day...which is about the amount of protein in two KYC chicken breasts.

I don't know why you seem bothered by Centrum. I took Centrum multivitamin and mineral tabs every day for years. I just changed to a new brand a few years ago because it's available where my wife shops. You might try a different brand and see what happens.

Add some pasta or pizza some fish or very lean good meat Do not deprive your system of other tasty foods Dark chocolate is very healthy too.

Im trying to lose weight how does this sound?

breakfast - light and fit yogurt

lunch- 6 inch subway sub turkey on whole wheat with no mayo and no cheese

dinner- yogurt or a salad (chicken ceaser)

how does this sound?Im trying to lose weight how does this sound?
Glad to see you're including breakfast in your diet! And yogurt is one of my favorite breakfasts. I also like to eat Clif bars; chocolate brownie is my favorite. Tastes delicious and is a great source of vitamins.

For lunch, good choice! Subway makes some delicious and satisfying sandwiches that can help you lose weight. I think you chose a winner. There's a few more there that you can eat to keep variety in your diet.

For your dinner, make sure your caesar dressing is low fat - regular caesar can be quite fattening. And chicken is a great choice. You might want to consider other salads, perhaps a seafood salad with light dressing, to help you stay on your diet and avoid becoming bored with your food.

    Good luck! :)

I use fatloss4idiots ebook and it works for me.Amazing.I lost 19 pounds in 40 days. Its all about eating :) Here is review of this ebook http://fatloss4idiots.net46.net/
Jogging or walking isn't going to do much to build muscle. You would need to lift weights or do some resistance training. As far as your menu, you could eat healthier. When eating bread chose WHOLE grains not bread with enriched flour %26amp; eat egg whites instead of the whole egg. Good Luck. Will i lose weight/gain muscle this way?
YEA i deffinitley think you will gain muscle this way...its a really healthy diet. :D way to go :]
that is a lot of food. ud prolly just balance out with all ur eating and not lose or gain weight. the foot long is not a good snack. thats too big. ur not going to gain muscle unless you lift weights, so jogging isnt enough. walking isn't sufficient either. running is the best thing to lose weight.

DRINKING PLENTY OF WATER AND EXCERSISING FIRST THING IN THE MORNING.Is this a good balanced diet?
I think you're doing an admirable job; and working out first thing in the AM is the best. However, it seems like you don't cook any of your own food and only rely on pre-made stuff. I'd try and replace a lot of it with "real" foods cooked by you! You might also want to try drinking a low-carb, high protein shake before bed and after working out.
It's better than what I eat. I usually go for pizza and smirnoff. Is this a good balanced diet?
It's a very sound diet. It takes a lot of discipline an commitment to maintain such meals. It is good that you are very single-minded about this and you have taken steps to improve your overall health and physique. Just add a wide variety of fruits and veggies to it. Also, you can add tuna, salmon or any cold-water fish that is rich in Omega-3 fatty acids (healthy fats) essential for the body. Lean beef or pork is occasionally good or turkey breast. Add yogurt and fruit shakes to your meal, use splenda as sweetener. Kudos to you! welcome to the world of being fit! KEEP THE FAITH! BTW: you have to have 1 cheat day in a week, a day where you can eat anything you like, but avoid BINGING. At least, you're giving your body some slack for next week's strict diet. This is a very effective way to maintain your "clean eating" in the long term.
I have to agree that pre-made meals wouldnt be my best option. However, since you are young they might work with your lifestyle bettter. I wouldnt eat a protein bar as a snack because its full of calories and youll never lose weight with that. I like how your mid0afternoon snack includes yogurt(protein) because that should leave you more satisfied around dinner time. It is good that you have vegetables included but I would suggest trying to get a nice green salad in a few times a week. Especially with exercise because it replenishes you body and has tons great vitamens. Also many things you eat have tons of sodium (dont worry most food in America does anyway) so just remember to keep drinking that h20!!! good luck. its nice to see someone who doesnt want to acquire an eating disorder
    good job!!
It sounds like you are trying to go for the long run and not a fad diet? If this were true though, you would cut out eating as much red meats and pork as possible and over time all meats. I am not a total vegetarian, I still eat fish. For the last thirteen years since I had a heart attack at 48, I decided to make my physical body and internal body healthy. I cut out red meats that over time clog up arteries and colon and destroy the liver and kidneys. I stopped eating anything that used extra salts or sugars, which eliminates most restaurant foods and store bought foods. I eat quite a bit of fresh vegetables and fresh fruits. I drink organic fruit juices and pure water. Between 6 and 8 bottles every day and I walk. I walk two to five miles every day. When I first started doing this after thirty days I lost thirty pounds and leg muscles started to show for the first time in my memory. If you do this forever, you will not only look healthy, be sick less, have more energy, more stamina, more mental acuity than almost everyone around you, but you will also have friends nagging you to tell them your anti-aging secrets when you are well past middle age. Good luck and keep being healthy.

Treating myself while on healthy diet?

Today i plan on going to the mall and getting...

p.s...for breakfast, i had a cup of kashi go lean crunch original cereal w/cup of skim milk.Treating myself while on healthy diet?
Have something that us no more than 150 calories. Have a little but of dark chocolate if u are craving chocolate. Have small portions and don't overload on any snack! U r on a healthy diet, so it's vital that you keep to small portions.

Trouble losing weight at the gym...?

Im a 240 pound male. ive always done low carb diets in the past to lose weight, getting down to 180. but obviously i always gain it back. I decided to do it the "healthy" way, minimizing calories and going to the gym every other day for about 30 minutes. I cant do much right now at the gym because im so out of shape but i usually run a mile, walk some and lift a little. Right now on average i probably burn 300 calories each time i go.

I have really cut down on how much i eat as well. I have a nutrigrain bar for breakfast, a 6" subway sub for lunch and usually make dinner, ive been having chicken wings and turkey burgers lately. i dont snack and only drink diet soda. I would estimate im only eating about 1200 to 1500 calories per day. BUT, after two weeks the scale is the same. this is very frustrating and depressing, why go through all this? Im at least happy when i get to eat the foods i like so much...

    Am i doing something wrong?

Is it possible that i just cant lose the weight?Trouble losing weight at the gym...?
When u lose weight it is 70% eating habbits and 30% exercise. Diet sodas are not very healthy for u, i would suggest u drink just mainly water and juices throughout your day. Try to stay at the gym a little longer if u can, maybe an hour more so u can run/walk an extra mile or 2, if u want to lose weight, running is always the better alternative than lifting weight, u will burn many more calories running. For breakfeast try to eat a piece of fruit like an apple or an orange instead of a nutrigrain bar, the fruit in the morning will make your metabolism more active throughout the whole day and give u more energy. Avoid all fried foods, and u should lose weight very steadily. Remember it's not so much how much calories u eat in a day that is the key to losing weight, it is how active u keep your metabolism, so instead of three meals a day, try to eat 6 snacks throught your day every 2 or three hours or so your metabolism has something to breakdown more ofteh throughout your day.
    Dearest ricker. (nice name) lol

anyway Nice going WOW lol most people would just say psh,

forget about it. Lol my mom used to be over weight before she started running, and working out. I truely appriciate your efforts to lose weight. Just a question..... do you have a dog?

Because getting a dog if you don't already would be a big help. Dogs are an extremly good way to lose weight since they need to go for walks, (and runs!!!) Haha. (just don't get a boring dog!!!) But just to let you know 240 is a great weight!

Most men nowadays are like 260-300 thats like in the middle wieght chart. But since your 240 thats great!!! Well im sorry I haven't provided you with more information but good luck and thanks for trying to get fit!!! I know you can do it!! Good luck.

-Katey (11 years old)Trouble losing weight at the gym...?
    Patience. Two weeks is nothing.

A couple of issues jump out at me, though.

    1. 3 days a week of minimal exercise isn't going to have much effect, especially after so short a time. Not suggesting you start running marathons every day, you obviously need to work up to more exercise. I AM suggesting that you go every day if you can manage, and adjust expectations. Assuming your 300 calorie burn estimate is correct, 2weeks=6 sessions = 1800 calories. Or about 1/2 pound of fat. Your scale isn't accurate enough to notice that.

    2. Be honest with yourself. I'm not there to see what you do, but by your description, I suspect you're being generous in estimating 300 calories burned per session. Similarly, I have my suspicions about the 1200-1500 intake numbers. Are you sure you're counting everything? estimating portion sizes correctly? If correct, I would have expected that low a level to have taken off a pound, maybe two.

    Keep at it, good luck.

You CAN lose weight via exercise, but you're not at the point where you can go hard enough long enough to do it. The objective of your workouts right now should be strictly conditioning. At some point a few months, hopefully you'll be in good enough shape for longer workouts that can make a difference in burning calories.
even though subway is healthy-it also is just junk food if you eat it too much. diet soda?? what about water?maybe you should have fruit for breakfast and tea-breakfast is the most important meal of the day because it gives you metabolism to last the whole day. maybe become a vegetarian(just for a while) and buy a health cook book.

    hoped this helped:)
You really need to burn more calories at the gym. You could problably burn at least 600 to 650 calories on an eliptical machine for an hour. You need to reconfigure your schedule for work or school and the gym. When I go to the gym I make a promise to myself that I have to at least burn about 800 to 1000 calories, so I first lift weights for about thirty minutes (mostly till I just give up) and then work on the cardio. I get on a eliptical for an hour then I just walk for about thirty minutes on a slight incline on a treadmill. I try to cool myself down a little on a stationary bike for about 10 minutes at slow pace then I just do a little jogging for about 15 or 30 minutes. Now Im not suggesting that you should do that because even I get sore from that stuff and it sometimes puts me out of commission from time to time. The only thing Im suggesting is that you need to make more time at the gym whether its an hour every three days or every day for 30 minutes, it's all up to you.

    Good luck.
you need more protein in your diet. wings/burgers/condiments on your sub may have too much sodium for your body to retain water.

buy the abs diet book. it's a healthy program that works!
Well, you are on the right track - the key to losing weight is in consistent "dieting." Working out is also an excellent way to accelerate fatloss and get healthier.

However, you definitely have some to learn with regard to eating healty and eating right. At 240lbs and 1200 calories, your body very well might be in "starvation" mode - thinking it has run into a famine so-to-say and it wants to hold onto anything it has. The human body is an incredible adaptive machine, and it is very smart when it comes to feeding itself.

I highly recommend eating at LEAST 4 meals (4-6) throughout the day. The key is to eat the right foods and time it right as well. It is good that you cut out the processed, refined sugars - those are poison for weight-loss!

Eating right doesn't mean you have to be hungry, but it certainly means your cannot eat all the junk food you want. I would suggest going to bodybuilding.com and reading some of their weightloss articles. The key is to eat healthy meals 4-6 times per day and make sure they are nutrient rich!

    Good luck!
Instead of telling you how to loose weight check out this site below. Loosing weight its easy unless you put work into it. All these weight loss programs where they say loose weight in 3 weeks is ideal but majority of them are not the healthy way. Sounds like your meals you are eating are ok but you need all the food groups to keep you healthy. You must eat less carbs or cals than you take in which you seem to know. But to tell you the truth not everyone has the same body type. Just look at The Biggest Looser, the whole point of the show is to see who can loose the most carbs vs cals but at the same time they have a motivator and hard working hours to do it. Try logging on to their web site and see what they have to offer.

Dont give up, its not easy to try something out and not see results quickly. Give it time. Try lifting weights, when you lift weights dont try to be a stud and lift more than what you can. If lift a decient amount of pounds/weights with more reps you will see more definition in your arms. You will quickly see results. Most people in the gym try to do more to show off. I learned the hard way in high school trying to lift more but when I found out less weights more repetitions I started to see structure in my arms. I hope this is helpful to you and just remember this You Only Get Out What You Put In.
A lot of it is psychological... if you think you cant, you wont. I put a picture of Jessica Alba up on the ceiling so that every day i woke up, i was reminded of the body that i wanted, and id avoid the bad foods and work hard because i was reminded of the weight i needed to lose.

Another thing is lost the fizzy drinks.... it contains lots of sulfates which makes you bloated- try and just drink water, i know its bland but it really is better for you and it works as an antioxidant as well, and ud be surprised at how much you lose just by making this change!

Chicken wings and turkey burgers arent that great for you, they have a high level of fat in them and probably salt as well. If you need to have meat/chicken, try grilling some fish or chicken breast- fish has omega 3 which helps get rid of the bad oils in your body and the chicken breast has the least amount of fat of any of the other cuts. I like to marinade my fish in lemon juice, a bit of olive or avocado oil and grated garlic- then grill- its quite nice, easy and low in fat.

Nutrigrain bars arent that fantastic for you either, they have high salt levels and i think a high GI (dont quote me on that) the best breakfast is oatmeal or wheatbix or something like that... the less processing there is, the better for you it is.

If you like to snack, snack on things like nuts- especially walnuts- they have high levels of omega 3.

I know that regime isnt that glamorous- in fact its quite bland, but trust me, once you start on these foods..... you just need to detoxify your body for about a week, and you wont go back to the greasy foods you once had! The last time i ate mcdonalds i almost threw up!
Well chicken aint good, to start with, substitute it for fish if you can, chicken will give you man boobs :)

But what is happening is your fat is turning into a bit more mussells and mussells are heavier then fat.

hence your not loosing weight... just keep at it and you'll feel fitter, its not how much you weigh anyway but how fit you become thats what you should focus on...

I would also sugest rollerblading, or rock climbing... more fun then going to borring gym :) with rollerblading you dont notice your doing excersise but it works! and rock climbing is good for confidence and works on your entire body.... and ofcourse is a bit challanging :)

    keep at it! good luck!

drink loads of water too! I drink 3L a day usually! instead of anything with unatural sweetners in it, which also cuts down how hungry you are :)

oh and if you want to loose weight and see the world, go through africa, I lost 10kg in 3 months of travelling through around 30 countries...
remember that muccle weighs more than fat so when you work out at the gym you are burning fat and gaining muccle so your weight may not look like its falling.

That plan seems a bit heavy on the carbohydrates and a bit to lean on the protien and veg. You would be better served to eat a more balanced variety. Each meal should be 1/4 lean protien, 1/4 complex carb (such as brown rice or whole grain pasta) and 1/2 veg (green leafies, not carb rich veggies like corn or carrots). All those carbs are just begging to be turned into fat.
Maybe, but in the long run you will probably gain it all back. Eating a healthy breakfast and lunch is okay but that doesn't mean you cant eat at all. Just try to stay light on dinner and don't eat past 7-8pm.

The best way is to eat but just healthy with more veggies than meat and no junk food. Work out (even just walking every night/morning) and drink lots of water. Will i loose weight with this diet?
That is all good. Be careful which sub you get-- make sure you get one of the 6 grams of fat or less and don't put on any sauces because they all have lots of fat (excludign teh fat-free mustards, but those have lots of calories). The best dressing to put on is vinegar which has no calories or fat and is said to speed up your metabolism.

So you if that's all you ate, you'll lose some weight.
Depends...only if it's different or less fattening than your usual daily meal. Sit-ups will not make you lose weight as it will not remove a great deal of fat in your body. However you may gain some visible abdominal muscles depending on how much fat is blocking the view of a possible six-pack. Subway sounds like a good start. There is no need to stop eating chocolate as some research has proven its great and noticeable benefits of eating it, especially dark chocolate- some of may be critical to weight loss. Subway, "eat flesh"-little joke there. LOL
    some chocolate............NO!!!!!

start walking, runn etc as well and you will loose weight.
subway can be very fatty sometimes.

u need to cut down on chocolate and lollies...

    but the rest is good
You know, there is not a single diet one can say, with certainty, before entering, if it will work. Different body types, different will powers, and different mental states all have something to do with weight loss.

Now, if I were on that diet... I would lose weight. I'd also be starving, and my stress level would increase which would, in turn, INCREASE my weight.

If you have low will power (like me) try adding foods that will fill your stomach and keep the edge off hunger, such as proteins and dairies.

    My modifications would be...

Breakfast - Egg whites with toast (light butter), yogurt %26amp; SMALL bowl of Special K

Lunch - 12 inch subway, no dressing, loaded with vegetables, sunchips %26amp; flavored water ... or 6 inch, no dressing, loaded with vegetables, sunchips, %26amp; diet soda or milk.

Dinner - Large bowl SALAD with light dressing, dried fruit, and a potatoe with sour cream.

Snack - Skittles, strawberries, and low fat beef jerky sticks...

Now that's a diet I could lose weight on, still be healthy... and I would be FULL!

But I'd try it... if you haven't lost any weight, adjust it, healthily, to suit your problems.
all of these will not make you lose weight, you have to let go with all these diet and take enough vegetables and exercise everday.cut off all sugary and oilly things .
you will lose weight if you run a mile and a half every day light work out and at least 300 sit ups a day

Why dont i feel like eating?

So im a guy, normal weight, not obese at all. Lately i havent been eating breakfast, and today when i took a 3 hour bus ride, i was really hungry.. was gonna eat at subway but my bus was leaving. 2 hours into the ride, we stopped at a gas station and i got a starbucks coffee and i ate half a can of pringles. thats all i ate today, and i dont feel like eating anything else. i dont feel consious about anything. could it be stress? am i sick? what is it pleaseWhy dont i feel like eating?
Wish I knew..I have the same problem. I'm going to guess (for me, at least) that's its stress. I have a lot of schoolwork and pressure right now and I don't really think about eating. It's like all the work I've got to do is keeping me full.

Did i eat healthy so far today?

breakfast- 1/2 c oatmeal with nonfat milk, 2 egg whites

    yeah, looks good
    That looks great :)

I'd maybe add some type of fruit into your day if you have any

Subway also sells soup (at most of their restaurants)

I've only had the chicken noodle, but it's really good and it goes great with a sandwich :)Did i eat healthy so far today?
    I think so :D

    pretty sure!

How to get my body fat % below 10%?

    i have 12.2 body fat % currently and i'm trying to get below 10%. I'm 17, 164 Lbs and 5"11

All I eat everyday is the following:

    BREAKFAST--

2 cups of honey nut cheerios

    1 cup 2% milk

    1 glass of orange juice

    LUNCH--

    4 slices of pita bread

    hummus (spelling?)

30 fl oz. of water (2 bottles)

    SNACK 1--

1 peanut butter and jelly sandwichs on whole wheat bread.

    1 serving of fruit

1 can of v8 juice (all my daily veg needs)

    SNACK 2--

1 peanut butter and jelly sandwichs on whole wheat bread.

    1 serving of fruit

    DINNER--

2-3 days out of the week is subway (turkey)

    16.9 fl oz (1bottle)

okay I drink maybe 4 bottles of water daily. sometimes more. and sometimes less.

I've gotten myself stuck on this "diet" for the past 2 months, but occasionaly eat a slice of pizza now and than.

I get my exersize i workout 3-5 times a week. and do basketball with friends at the YMCA for 2-3 hours at a time 2-3 times a week.

will this get me below 10% and roughy how long? How to get my body fat % below 10%?
Ok, well below 10% is hell... 10% is pretty much ideal for an athlete....below is bodybuilder...

Prior to a fracture in my vertebrae....

    I was 6'2" 225 Lbs. and 9~11% fat....

First of all.... look at how much you take in.....

    peanut butter....75% fat.....

    you have two sandwiches.....

honey nut cheerios.....can you find a cereal with less sugar/calories?

    CHICKEN IS YOUR FRIEND....

    let's see what else....

Orange juice in the morning, I forgot the exact statistic but a glass of orange juice every day make you gain like.... 10-20 pounds of fat in a year......so alot of your exercise will go towards burning the OJ, the peanut butter, the honey-nut cheerios, etc.

And no, There is NO fun in reaching 10% fat..... it's a struggle....

Also, with all of your exercise, are you getting enough protein to rebuild muscles?

If you lose muscle, your bodyfat % is going to go up and you are going to lose tone and figure....

I think that covers it..... oh and just to be sure you know...you have about 20 pounds of fat.....

there's not much to lose...4 pounds of fat away from 10%....

In my opinion, don't worry about it, but don't overdo it with certain foods.
your diet is about 70% carbohydrates and the majority of that comes from processed foods. I would be very surprised to see anyone successfully lose body fat with that diet with out losing a significant amount of muscle mass. basically your diet is horrible. it's low in quality proteins, low in high fiber carbs, low in veggies and low in healthy fats. How to get my body fat % below 10%?
The diet seems alright if you want to stay in the teens for body fat percentage. If you truly want to get below ten percent (and keep in mind that that is temporary), cut the carbs out as much as you can. (Don't cut completely, you just have to limit it). You need your body to burn as much of the fat instead of the glycogen stores that is being built up from the carbs. You're probably going to lose some muscle due to the low carbs, so try and supplement it with more protein. Unless you got some freaky genetics, you gotta cut the carbs out. Keep in mind though, as soon as you start putting carbs back in, you're probably gonna gain some of the fat back.

*** Keep in mind that staying below 10% is not a very healthy thing!
it wont really matter what food u eat, aws long as u dont eat much fatty foods. Just workout a lot. THe more you eat, the more you should work out.
cut out the pbnj try delli meat and loose the bread roll meat in lettuce insted also work out more or change rutine the body will get used to the same rutine so mix it up

What could be wrong with my right tire? I went over a curb and hit a column...?

This morning I stopped at Subway to get a breakfast sandwhich on my way to work. Pulling into the parking space I accidentally hit the gas instead of the break. I tried to stop the car but still managed to smack the stone column that was part of the strip center. I now have a small hole on my front bumper by the license plate and a couple scraps on the bumper. It isn't big at all and is actually pretty small. However, now my right tire is making a weird grinding sound when I have to turn the wheels sharply (i.e. when I have to pull into a parking space or back out) What kind of damage could there be? It doesn't seem out of alignment and it drives pretty normally otherwise. But the tire did have to go up on the curb when I smacked the column...

    I have a 2002 Suzuki XL-7

Thanks for your helpWhat could be wrong with my right tire? I went over a curb and hit a column...?
Realize that you've had an accident with your car. Then the first thing to do is call your car insurance agent. He won't bite you! He will schedule a free shop inspection to determine any damages to your car. You can then decide whether to repair it under your insurance coverage or do what ever else you choose to do. You've been paying for insurance coverage so why not take advantage of it?
You might have bent a part of your suspension out of alignment or damaged your right half-shaft/CV joints. You need to take it to a mechanic and get a quote. If the quote is larger than your deductible, then you should contact your insurance company to file a claim. What could be wrong with my right tire? I went over a curb and hit a column...?
Probably bent your upper control arm, rim and definately knocked your front end out of alignment.

    Your tire is fine.

  • I don't know whats going on with me today.?

Well right now I'm on Summer Vacation in California. So when I woke up, I walked over to Subway to get some breakfast. I told the person behind the counter what I wanted and she asked me what kind of sandwich what I wanted and weirdly my brain just shut down and it was like she was speaking in another language. She asked me again, I was still blank until a woman next to me told me that she was asking me what I wanted on it and I finally snapped out of it. When it was time to pay(total was $8.05) when he asked me for the money. I gave him $8.05. But he repeated himself "The total is $8.05" I said "that is $8.05." The cashier said "I only see $7.05. And suddenly my brain saw that it was an extra dollar short. I don't know if I was hallucinating or what at the time. Then when I opened the door, it wouldnt budge. And I found out that I was pressing on the wrong side of the door. I dont know if the West Coast heat is getting to me, if I'm just angry about my family life or me being stuck at my cousin's house doing nothing, or maybe if I'm just simply lacking the nutrients my body needs/I don't know whats going on with me today.?
It probably a number of things that cause You to space out. It happens to everyone. I've learned to just save face and incur some humor into such a situation by smiling and saying gosh..i must have jet lag...or Sorry I only had a few hours sleep and I'm afraid I'm not 'fully' awake yet! As far as the error in paying your bill...again this happens occasionally to 'everyone' I've learned to laugh and say 'gosh that simple math really gets to me sometimes and pretend to knock on my brain.

If I were yu just pay attention and if anything truly alarming happens mentioned it to your parents. If you've had any type of a fall or hit your head you might want to go to the ER @ your local hospital Fra too many time people over look that something serious my be wrong.

Try not to trip on it. Because seriously it happens everyday to many people. Sorry you're having a bad time in Southern, Cal. I'm in Northern, California ! . Maybe somebody just needs to ge the party started ???...at your cousins house...

How to lose butt, chest and stomach fat for a teen?

http://www.realself.com/files/SD530565-41453.jpg - His butt looks like that, but without the fat folds under the legs, and his butt is not so goopy but tighter. However it has the same basic shape as the picture.

http://blogs.ocweekly.com/navelgazing/man-boobs-before.jpg - His chest looks like that

He doesnt have that much stomach fat so i didnt look for an online picture.

He does cardio from tuesday-thursday. tues- 4 hours cardio, wednesday- 2 hours, thursday-2 hours.

I do not permit him lifting weights just yet as he is still growing and that could stunt his growth. He eats salads everyday, sometimes a healthy subway sandwhich, and SOMETIMES breakfast.

I am the one asking the question because i dont want him online on these question sites. How to lose butt, chest and stomach fat for a teen?
What your friend needs to do is, first of all, EAT BREAKFAST, also not only cardio, he needs a variety of exercises, also put some variety in his diet, salad every day is boring and no good. He has to work on his muscles. Go to the local gym and ask an instructor to give him a routine, they will make it according to what he wants to achieve and how hard he is willing to work for it.How to lose butt, chest and stomach fat for a teen?
He's what people in the fashion world call a pear shape! Embrace it....Just kiding

You can't 'spot' weightloss- one for all and all for one(you can't just lose weight on certain parts).

Slow cardio to start out is fine but if you want to lose weight you need to kick it up a notch. Burst training is the best type of cardio (burst training basically goes like this walk for 10mins...sprint for 30 seconds...walk for 8 mins sprint for 1min...walk for 6mins...sprint for 1.5 mins....and so on)

This method burns fat long after you've stopped exercising!

Eating healthy is good...but it's not so much what you eat it's how much...cut down protion sizes and ALWAYS EAT BREAKFAST....if you don't your metabolism won't start right and you won't burn food! FINALLY: SUBWAY= NO NO NO NO!(NOT EVEN IF IT SAYS HEALTHY SANDWICH!)

What are healthier "on the go" foods I can eat?

I'm a college student and my diet (lately) has consisted of cheap, fast food stuff (i know! its soo bad). I normally eat 6x a day due to my sensitive stomach but I do drink alot of tea and coffee. I've been increasing my water intake and have been trying to drink more tea instead of coffee.

I have class in the evenings but go in about 1pm to study before I have lab and lecture. I'll eat oatmeal in the morning and either have subway or a starbucks breakfast sandwich for lunch and have taco bell (those value menu stuff) in the evening and at 9 or 10 have whatever's left over....

I was thinkin of just eating vietnamese sandwiches instead if it's healthy...do you have any suggestions for cheap, healthy, "on the good" foods for me to eat?

(I've JUST started working out again...)What are healthier "on the go" foods I can eat?
Anything you make at home is going to be much healthier than eating at any restaurant - you know what you put in it.

On the go you need things that are easy to eat. Start by making a list of things you enjoy eating and categorize by snacks and meals. Snacks could be string cheese, baby carrots, sliced apple, yogurt with disposable spoon, oatmeal cookie (home made please), protein shake, etc.

You can also make and bring sandwiches. I love tuna with a little mayo and pickle relish and eat that with crackers, PB%26amp;J sandwiches, turkey and cheese, etc.

So, it takes a lot of preparation on your part but will be well worth it in the end. Congrats!
Fruit. What are healthier "on the go" foods I can eat?
Choose these choices when on- the- go:

Taco Bell: Fresco menu choices- fresco chicken/ beef/ steak/ bean burritos, and hard- soft tacos.

Starbucks: Light frappachinos, coffee with sweetener and skimmed- nonfat milk, herbal teas, skinny lates, oatmeal with dried fruit/ brown sugar and nonfat- skimmed milk, yoghurt parfaits, bran muffins.

Subway: "Under 6g of fat" subs

    - Choose 9grain/ 9grain oats and honey bread

    - Choose lowfat/ light sauces (honey mustard/ mustard, light mayonaise, sweet onion terryaki dressing, etc ..

    - Choose a variaty of fresh vegetables

    - Don't get "extra" cheese

Choose one of these sub's ..

    Turkey %26amp; ham

    Turkey

    Ham

    Roast beef

    Vegetarian

    Subway club

    Grilled chicken

    Sweet onion terryaki chicken

(They also offer salads, soups, baked chips, juices, and 1% milks, yoghurts and apples)

    Goodluck!
Pretzels, granola, nuts, whole fruits (such as apples, bananas, oranges, etc), wraps that you could make ahead of time and take with you (they hold up pretty well throughout the day), applesauce, etc. Check out the section of the grocery store where things are already preportioned and see what healthy options they may have there, too.
Well one thing that is easy and on the go is tuna actually. They sell it in on the go lunch kinda kits and it is better for you. You could buy some pre made salads. Also trail mix is healthy for you and it is suprisingly filling. Hmm....I hope this helps...?
Nuts are great proteins. Could carry a bag of almonds or walnuts. Don't suggest peanuts since they are more prone to mold and allergens. Also, those cheese sticks could be tossed in the purse. Boiled eggs another great protein snack. Sensitive stomach could be reduced by limiting coffee or by drinking alkaline water after having your coffee to balance your ph again to alkaline. Drinking alkaline water great for your body and would help with sensitive stomach, I'm betting. Kashi makes some really good whole grain bars too, easy to throw in your gym bag and go.
trail mix, cold tuna or chicken salad, 2 eggs, 1 tortilla with peanut butter almonds and a banana, canned beans. you can prepare them all beforehand and they contain protein and carbs.

I feel like my friends are neglecting me.?

Starting from the beginning, One day, I and my two friends (My Best Friends.) lets call them A and B decided to spend the day together, are plans were to have an all day movie marathon. We all specifically hung out on this day because A's parents where going to be gone for the weekend. In the morning, as a nice jester I bought us some sandwiches from subway to enjoy at breakfast. As the day gradually progressed we played video games, and stuck to watching movies. Later we invited two more friends to hang out, only one could make it. I decided that we needed more snacks, so I drove to Walmart and picked up a couple of things. ( I'm a 17 year old guy, BTW ).

Once our other friend arrived we all ate snacks together and watched one movie, then she had to go, at the time it was about 9:00 pm. As the night died down, my friend A said that he had saved a joint from a while back, and wanted to smoke it. He ask if I and my other friend wanted to try some, B said: "I mean ill try it if Tim will" and I said no, but A still wanted to do it. We then went outside and watched A smoke the blunt, I then thought to myself, I should at least try it, I mean I have always been curious on how it will make me feel, a lot of people have been telling me that it makes you feel good, So both me and B try it. We all take tokes from the blunt until it was gone, then we went inside. Once inside I started feeling dizzy, then once in A's room, my heart start racing out of control.

From there on the night continued to get worse, I felt my throat close up and it was difficult to breath, my muscles had constant spasms that lasted for four hours, that was all complimented with increased stupidity. Afterwards I told my friends that was one of the worst experiences that I ever had in my entire life. They apparently both enjoyed it. To an extent B said that he only enjoyed because he has a lot of problems in his life, but he told me that he would not do it again, but he lied. They both keep telling me ( to this day ) that I was acting a certain way because of the weed, but I know that's not the truth, in fact I'm the only one who can recall everything that happened that night. I did not enjoy one minuet of the four hours that it lasted, I told them I would never do it again.

Anyways on to the main problem, ever since that night they both hangout together just to smoke weed. They don't invite me because they know how I feel about it, but still I would like to hang out with my best friends, just the other day I watched them get high, and they were being complete d*cks to me. They mainly only talk to me in school, they stopped texting/calling ,and started to ignore me on facebook. They stopped including me in their activities, we used to go out to eat, watch movies, go to the arcade, you know have a good time but I guess that wasn't enough. I like my friends, and enjoy the time we spend together, but if there going to be jerks to me why bother.?I feel like my friends are neglecting me.?
You've just answered you're own question, love. Why bother?

You shouldn't. They're T**ts to say the least. You gave into peer pressure but the effect it had on you kinds made you sensible. You want to look after yourself. If they want to get hooked on weed.. It's their problem. Personally, I'm 15.. I don't think Weed is a suitable way. One of them said they were having troubles.. That's why they smoke it.

I'd go around and join a club or go to the arcade and make some new friends. If they're going to be D**k heads.. then let them get on with it. You've already proven your far better then they are.
Thank you very much. Continue to endeavor!!!

Try telling a guidance counselor at your school about the situation. Once their minds are off the weed, they will realize friends are what they need.

Is this fair to me or no?

my mum bought me subway and my brothers my favorite breakfast place eggs up i fricking hate here for this.Is this fair to me or no?
Well, your mum was just trying to do a nice gesture, and maybe give your brothers something different.

You shoudl'nt hate your mum for something so pety, maybe you just need to calm down and think about what your mum does for you all the time :).

Just sit down and relax about the situation
    you hate her for that?

talk to her about it sweety, at the end of the day she is your mum after all.Is this fair to me or no?
    Geesh.....drama queen!

Grow up and get over it. Life isn't fair, sooner you learn that the better off you will be.
I think the scope of your world is very small if you "hate" your mother for something so minor.

  • Is this a lot to eat in one day?

    Breakfast: about 50 goldfish crackers

Lunch: A foot long Subway sandwich with teriyaki chicken, lettuce, and tomato

    Dinner: 2 poptarts

is that a lot to eat for the day?Is this a lot to eat in one day?
That's like nothing. why the hell do u eat goldfish for breakfast?
Aww crap you made me hungry man!Is this a lot to eat in one day?
    Goldfish: Around 110 calories

    Sandwich: 750 calories

    Poptarts: 400 calories

So you only ate around 1260 calories, but more or less none of them were healthy. I would suggest talking to a nutritionist about building yourself a more balanced diet plan.
It depends entirely on the calorie count in the foods and your personal calorie requirements, which in turn depends on things like your gender, weight, height, activity level and age.

Nutritionally speaking it's pretty bad. I'm presuming the crackers are full of salt? Poptarts are empty calories. Decent protein with the chicken but only one portion of fruit/veg in that sandwich for the day.
thats not a lot at all but not very healthy either
no. but it's not healthy at all. if you're trying to lose weight, it won't work. sorry.
No, it actually is a little less than what you actually need. However, there is not that much nutrition in it! So there may be some calcium in the goldfish and protein in the sandwich but really these are not the healthiest....try eating more balanced meals! And REMEMBER: eating more smaller meals (healthy of course) can actually boost your matabolism and help you slim down!
thats like 1/3 of what i eat a day
its not alot but it is very unhealthy

What do you think of my food intake?

This is what i eat on avergae:

Breakfast: Porridge made with semi skimmed milk

    2 x toast with flora + jam

Lunch: Porridge (again!) or a turkey breast wrap from subway (lettuce, tomato, onion, sweetcron, no sauce)

    Snack: Apple

Tea: prawn noodles strirfry/ tuna rice stirfry/ sausage casserole/ fish and salad

supper:mullerice. What do you think of my food intake?
Sounds ok .. may I give you an idea to help healthen/ balance it up?

You're lacking in calcium/ dairy, protein, and fruits/ vegetables along with healthy fats- ohman!

Breakfast: 1/2 -3/4 Cup oats/ oatmeal made with 250mL semi- skimmed milk with either 1/4 cup dried fruit, 3/4 cup fresh- frozen berries, or a chopped banana added.

With two sliced of wholewheat toast with 2tbsp natural or organic smooth/ crunchy peanut butter.

Lunch: (Don't have oatmeal/ porridge again! go for the sandwhich/ wrap with protein!)

Turkey breast wrap (lettuce, tomato, onion, sweetcorn, cheese, and light sauce- mustard/ honey mustard, sweet onion terryaki, etc ..)

    Snack: Apple and lowfat yoghurt

Tea: Chicken/ beef/ tuna/ or shrimp stirfry with brown/ long grain rice or prawn noodles and added vegetables/ soy- terryaki sauce.

    Or..

Salmon/ salad and brown/ long grain rice (or couscous/ quinoa)

    Or ..

Turkey/ lean beef/ tuna/ turkey sasuage cassarole with cooked vegetables or side salad- with dressing.

    Supper: Mullerrice.

Power BarWhat to eat before a soccer game?
I played soccer for 15 years and usually it was whole grain pasta and raw fruit before games. Mainly it's most important to drink lots of water directly before the game. Don't eat too much before hand, maybe have a meal 2 hours before.

    Is this ok?

I'm a new vegan. I was just wondering if this is an ok amount to eat?

    Breakfast: soy mocha

Lunch: subway 6inch salad sandwich with avocado, sweet onion sauce, no cheese.

    Snack: 2 oranges %26amp; a diet coke

Dinner: Lentil soup and a bowl of green beens.

Is this waaay too much? How much did you eat today? Is this ok?
You did pretty well. It's certainly not too much by a long shot. In fact you'd do a bit better to make sure you start with a substantial breakfast especially if you are interested in losing or maintaining weight (though you didn't say). It's called "break-fast" for a reason and it's what gets us going. Starting off well keeps us from binging later. So, maybe a bowl of steel-cut oatmeal (much tastier than the rolled oat kind) or a fruit smoothie made with some flax seeds (or meal) for extra fiber and omega 3, vegan waffles, peanut butter toast with a bit of jam, or a breakfast burrito in a wheat tortilla with beans, rice, diced potato, bell pepper, olive, lettuce... supplemented with a handful of cherries or blueberries. You can have coffee too or perhaps a soy chai.

Good lunch but you can also make your own perhaps with another tortilla (maybe brown rice one this time), spread with hummus and top with red bell pepper strips, purple onion, cucumber sticks, a bit of salt, pepper to taste, add some flax oil or garlic infused olive oil, broken/crumbled pecans or walnuts, and sprinkled heavily with dry roasted flax seeds and then roll up. Add a bowl of soup and water or herb tea. Or have a falafel sandwich with romaine, tahini, onions and tomatoes.

Your snack is good as well with two oranges but if you're going to consume a soda, especially with the little else you are eating and so little other junk, then you should consume a regular soda. Diet drinks play tricks with the body and insulin. Also the aspartame/nutra-sweet is artificial, controversial, and an excito-toxin.

If you eat well during the rest of the day then you can go light at dinner if you just aren't all that hungry. However, one of the joys of vegan is that as long as you're avoiding the junk you can eat when you are hungry. Except for nuts (which are high-density nutrient heavy jewels) the majority of the diet is low calorie but higher nutrients than the standard western diet; so you're less likely to be as hungry since you will be meeting your needs better now. You might add a piece of good bread or a half cup of quinoa if you're up for it and then allow yourself a bit of dessert.

Me? I had two cups of chai with vanilla Edensoy, a veggie pizza roll, several cherries and small tomatoes, and three bowls of local heirloom beans because they were just so good. All of it was organic too. :)

Eat if you're hungry and don't if you're not with the possible exception of make sure you eat something in the first hour or so and maybe supplement it with a mid-morning snack if you just don't feel like eating much at first.

And get some good exercise to get your blood moving and keep all the body parts working. :)
No that's not enough. There aren't enough nutrients in there to keep you going. You need breakfast not just a soy mocha and then a snack before lunch. I hope you have become vegan because you don't like how the animals are treated before slaughter and not just because you want to lose weight. Go to the Peta web-site they have some really good receipes on there.

I'm a vegi as well and so far have had a glass of water and a granola bar. Around 10am I will have some fruit. For lunch I'll probly have a salad then before dinner another snack. You can have as much fruit and vegis as you can eat all day long and it won't cause you to gain weight if that's what your worried aboutIs this ok?
You did ok but you need a lttle more nutritien in your day! Eat snacks between breakfast and lunch but then again don't over do it you know. WIth your lunch you could have added some vegan chips or something like that! But its good you decided to go vegan in the first place! Go VEGANS!!!
I dont think its pretty okey. Although its fine but it lacks nutrients. And diet coke is uggh in my opinion though. I think its not too much. It is lacking with nutrients and yeah calories.
If your trying to starve yourself then yehh its fine
I think your breakfast is lacking. Can you add something proteiny like a felafel wrap or something else beany. It's not enough to get you over the line.
It does not sound like enough. A soy mocha is hardly a decent breakfast and you are lacking in almost everything for the day.
If you love yourself or your family or ANYONE at all. Please seek help for your eating disorder.

"soy mocha" is in no way whatsoever a breakfast.

Stop drinking diet coke, artificial sweeteners are toxic.

"Is this waaay too much?" - ?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

How could that possibly be too much? How could that possibly be enough?
Sounds ok depending on portions . But I don't know your size or anything so maybe it works for you. I eat more or less the same type foods except soya drinks (I use fruit) and I have a mid morning snack as well. My portion sizes may be bigger (I'm 6'0. 185lbs) too. Personally, I would increase morning and lunch intake and decrease dinner.

Here's what my Grandma always says:

Fro breakfast, eat like a King

For lunch, eat like a Queen

For dinner, eat like a beggar

By the way, I am not a vegetarian or vegan so my meals would include some meat about 3-4 times a week.
If you think that is way too much you may have an eating disorder. You need more for breakfast more fruit and more whole grains.

How would you rate my diet??(1-10)?

So I am trying to lose a couple lbs... I also exercise for about an hour..

Breakfast: whole grain pop tarts, water

Lunch: 6" subway sandwich, sun ships, diet pepsi

Dinner: carrots, Peanut butter and jelly on wheat, applesauce, and a colby jack cheese stickHow would you rate my diet??(1-10)?
maybe try eat more nutrional foods

if you are overweight and trying to slim down

i suggest increasing your amount of vegtables and fruits and lean protein

    breakfast- wholegrain cereal skim milk

    lunch- a sandwich, chicken/egg salad

    snack- a piece of fruit

    dinner-salmon and steamed vegetables

and keep up with exercise! good luck
depends what your going from and to.

thats what you should eat to maintain your current weight

if your actually trying to lose weight, you gotta step it up another notchHow would you rate my diet??(1-10)?

Most of that food contains sugar. Try vegetables, fish and chicken in large quantities. Go for a walk 30 minutes or more a day.
Rate this about a 4. You need to substitute the pop tart for something far more nourishing with less sugar in it. Wholegrain cereal is good. Read the pack to see what amount of sugar there is in your pop tarts per serve and that of say oatmeal. You may be surprised. Then check the fat information. You are also not eating enough as one answerer said before. If you don't eat enough, the body shuts down and refuses to lose weight. It also can kick off a cycle of permanent swings from harsh diet to eating too much of the wrong things as you have felt deprived. Dieting is not just physical, it is psychological too. Lunch is not too bad but I wonder if Diet Pepsi is the best drink. Still if you enjoy it, have it. All food should be enjoyed.

Dinner is not balanced at all. Carrots and a few other assorted things. Try making a stir fry of several vegetables and lean meat such as chicken and serve on a bed of steamed rice. If you can get brown rice, it is more nutritious. Make sure to put a couple of little snacks into your day too. A small handful of fruit and nuts or a pieces of wholegrain toast spread with honey or some fruit spread. Make sure you drink at least 8 glasses of water a day. The exercise is good just be sure to mix up your routine with it so your body gains the best of all kinds.

If you need help to trim and fine down, talk to a nutritionist perhaps to help you to draw up a great menu sample for a week or two that you can enjoy. Things like soup and casseroles with vegetables and fruit or savoury salads are good food. Eat well in portions that are right for you. I hope you enjoy your new diet that I am sure you will refine from the help you will get. If you are enjoying, it is easier to stay with a thing.

Good luck to you. Good health too.

    Cheers

    Lisa
I'm not going for a "best answer" necessarily, but I must say that Pop Tarts are not a good thing to have for breakfast. All that sugar and nothing to go with it first thing in the morning can give you an extreme spike and drop in blood sugar, which leads to hunger soon after breakfast. I recommend eggs or oatmeal for breakfast because they control hunger for longer. If you aren't hungry all the time, you won't feel deprived and may be more successful in the end.

As for the diet overall, try to have a combination of protein (such as, but not limited to, meat, poultry, dairy, fish, or soy) and slow-release carbohydrates such as vegetables or whole grains at every meal, but keep the sugar intake low. (A little fruit is okay, but don't go overboard.)

    Good luck!
I would rate your diet at a 2. You are not eating healthily. There is only 2 things on your list that is actually healthy (carrots and water). If you want be healthy and easily lose any weight that you want to as well as look really good you should restrict your processed food intake.
