Are Subway sandwiches ideal for losing weight?

Hi all, I'm a 26 yr old male, 5 ft 11 inches and weight 166lbs. This is normal, but I do have a rather defining pot belly %26amp; love handles that I would like to get rid of, before I start to get abs and pecs. I've been trying to go on a diet, where I would have a small Yoplait non fat yogurt for breakfast, and then a snack (usually a Slim n Fast snack bar), and then lunch is usually a 6 inch Subway sandwich (roast chicken breast on honey oat bread). Evenings I usually drink some tea or have some steamed veggies and chicken. I am starting off easy by using a treadmill (on some days I do it early in the morning before breakfast, but I usually do it in the evening after work) for 45 mins.

Based on the above, do you think I can lose weight soon enough. I just want my pot belly to go down a bit before I start working properly on the abs.Are Subway sandwiches ideal for losing weight?
At 5'11" and 166 you're not overweight, you're out of shape. Losing weight is not what you want to do, in fact you should gain weight. I know that sounds stupid but consider this. If you do some exercise to get rid of your gut and love handles you will lose the "defining pot belly" and gain those "Abs" all the girls like. You will also be losing fat and replacing it with muscle, which weighs more then fat and therefore you will gain weight rather then losing it. You will however, look and feel much better about yourself. Good luck!
Depends...their website offers complete nutritional info for all their subs, and they also have a special group of low-fat subs on the menu. However, not all subs are low calorie and low fat...I had a Spicy Italian the other day that was loaded with fat and was over 500 calories per six-inch sub.Are Subway sandwiches ideal for losing weight?
They claim to have a diet list of healthy subs and even there were some commercials on how it helps you lose wieght more than fast food places-----



But really, it's not just their food. You have to have more healthy food and excercise more regularly.
Subway would love for you to believe their hype about their "skinny" sandwiches. That six inch sandwich you describe probably contains close to a thousand calories all by itself. Keep eating those on a daily basis, and you will not lose weight.
Obviously not - they are full of salt and fats - the best way to loose weight is to stick to three healthy meals consiting of mainly carbs, then fruit and veg, then protien, then dairy, and low in salt sugar and fat



and also regular exercise!
No... mostly because bread and meat is fattening... and then there's the sauces that go on-top of those! None of it is beneficial for weight loss. Especially if you're going to eat this everyday for lunch.
it worked for that guy in the commercials. he has gained much of his weight back, but that's because he slacked off, not eating subway anymore.
It depends on what you get. A Footlong Meatball is a heart attack waiting to happen. The Chicken Teriyaki subs are just fine...
You should start to lose weight as long as you're not adding all that extra stuff on the sandwich like mayonnaise.

No. Subway foods are pretty much soaked in lard. Your best bet is to make your own sandwiches using whole wheat bread.
No Bread is Pure Carbohydrates and the meat they use is full of preservatives and sodium
Go to the gym, exercise is key. Eat healthy, portion control.
