Will i lose weight with this diet?

I eat a sub every day from subway. I get a footlong that has 800 calories. I eat half for lunch, half for dinner. A bowl of oatmeal for breakfast- 400 calories. Plus a serving of pretzels-100 calories. So in total, 1300 calories a day. I work out 4 days a week and burn 450 calories. I wiegh 142 lbs, and i'm 5'7. Will i lose weight with this plan or do i need to cut more cals?Will i lose weight with this diet?
You're on a good start, but you can do a lot better.



Try to aim for 1600 calories and eat every 4 hours, 400 calories each meal. You didn't say what kind of sub you're getting, or what toppings, so I'll assume it could be the absolute worst subs they have, the tuna salad and meatball subs. Those are full of fat and calories. If you plan to keep eating the subs, you need to stick to the healthiest ones you can find, and pile on the fresh veges. Lean meats are fine. Stay away from fatty sauces like mayo. Choose the whole wheat bread over the regular white bread.



You need to balance your diet though. I've been on the Flat Belly diet for a few months now and have lost about 15 pounds on it (I've been on and off the diet). It's very easy to follow and helps give you guidelines as to what you should be eating to stay healthy and lose weight at the same time. Here's an example of what I eat from day to day.



Breakfast is oatmeal with fruit and milk. I love adding dried cranberries to my plain oatmeal. It adds vitamins and natural sweetness at the same time.



For lunch, I love a 3oz can of tuna, usually the albacore, mixed with a little Italian salad dressing with crackers or whole wheat bread (tuna sandwich) plus steamed carrots (no butter) or fresh fruit.



For dinner skinless chicken breast, grilled or baked is the best. Or a lean fish like Tilapia. Add more steamed veges and maybe some brown rice, about 1/2 cup.



I love smoothies, so for dessert, I like to make my own using 1 cup of skim milk, ice cold, and 1 cup of frozen fruit (strawberries, cherries, blackberries, blueberries, or even pineapple). You can even mix and match the fruit. Add a little honey for a bit of sweetness, and blend in your mixer. While it's not as smooth as your average smoothie, it tastes just as good and takes a while to drink so you feel full quicker.



You also need to work out, which you already do, several times a week. Change your workouts every few weeks or else your body will get bored. And don't forget to drink LOTS of water. It's healthy, no calories, and keeps you hydrated throughout the day, as well as helps keep you full too. Good luck!
I need to know how tall you are before I can estimate the calories. 1300 seems like a reasonable range, and it's great that you are exercising. The important thing is that you get lots of veggies, 2-3 servings of fruit in a day, plus adequate protein. If you control your portions, eat till your full and no more, and don't eat right before bed you should lose weight. Just give it time, at least a couple of weeks to start seeing results. If you don't see results in that time, I recommend going to a nutritionist who can help you tweak your diet to get the results you want.





EDIT- just noticed that the 57 is 5'7...i read it as 57 years old, sorry, my advice still stands, but 142 is not bad for 5'7", it's not overwweightWill i lose weight with this diet?
It's not just about calories.

It's about a balanced day of all the main food groups, and avoiding trans/saturated fats. You don't have to limit yourself to the diet you are currently having. Choose from a variety of possibilities of vegetables, fruits, lean meats, etc.

Add fruit to your oatmeal in the morning and a cup of fat free milk.

Instead of pretzels, snack on celery sticks or carrots.

For the foot-long, have whole wheat bread, avoid mayonnaise, etc.
Im 5'7 and 135. DONT EAT A SUB EVERRRRRRRY DAY. MAYBE TWICE A MONTHHH!!!!!!!!!

It sounds good so far but try not to make subway a regular thing, as healthy as it is compared to most fast food it's still a 'fast food'. It's good only every once in a while :)

You got fruit and vegetables in there which is great, good job on eating wheat bread too!

For a night snack you should try a single serve yogurt, look for a low calories brand. I know light activia is only like 70 calories and for dinner get some more vegetables in there! Maybe a yummy chicken salad?



If your craving something sweet you can put a chocolate pudding in the freezer and it taste just like chocolate ice cream but it's only around 110 calories :)

Is this healthy for a person?

Is it considered disordered eating if a person has 1 medium-sized apple for breakfast, and 1 subway salad wrap (with no meat, cheese, dressing, salt/pepper, extras) for dinner, plus cardio and strength training for an hour and a half a day? Would that person lose weight?Is this healthy for a person?
Most people don't realize how much waste can be trapped inside our bodies. Experts estimate that most people have 10-15 of waste trapped to the inside of their colon walls. Imagine how unhealthy this is with all these toxins sitting inside us. Oprah had a guest on her show that talked about how we need to make sure that we clean our bodies of this rubbish.

To be honest no one on this forum can say, because you have eaten different amount and portion size of that food so we would have no clue. BTW theirs an app called Loose it for iphones and ipod touches its good it gives you a rough amount of how much calories you have consumed rust me :).
Try fatsecret.com to work it out. We can't tell you because we don't know how big the slices of bread were, how thick the slices or cheese or ham were, whether the bread had butter or margarine on it, or any dressings.

Did your sandwiches have anything else on them? If so, your calories will be higher. According to mypyramid.gov you have only eaten 492 calories so far.

i ate 2 pieces of toast with butter and cinnamon for breakfast, subway for lunch, raisins for a snack, and i'll eat just whatever my family makes for dinner. is that a good diet to stick to?Eating question?

its good if you dont have many options. for subway, stick to mozerella or swiss cheese. and no mayo. with extra veggies. also eating nuts is very good with you, so combine that with the raisins. there loaded with protein

  • Do I have an eating disorder?

    I think I am a little on the chubby side but most people say I look anorexic. Most of the time I skip out on breakfast which a lot of people do but I barely touch my lunch. It is just a pick fest. I don't exactly eat what you would call a supper every night, sometimes I don't eat because my mom will not cook for me (long story). So I usually eat a whole bag of popcorn at exactly nine o clock and go to bed. Today I had breakfast for the first time in a long time but my mom wasn't going to be able to make lunch so I baked 24 chocolate chip cookies and ate about 2 of them in the course of an hour and a half. I was planning on having supper with my mom tonight but things came up with her and I just told her to forget about it. She offered to get me Subway or Mcdonalds but I refused. Now I probably won't eat untill nine o clock tonight with my bag of popcorn. Then today will repeat itself tomorrow. Sometimes I don't eat because I feel sad, maybe I just have weird eating habits.Do I have an eating disorder?

    First off - props to you for even thinking about this, being concerned about your behavior and seeking out information. For some people just this step alone is very difficult!

    Secondly - I have some serious questions to ask of you. How old are you? How much do you weigh and how tall are you? Is your mom a single mom? Does she drink or use drugs? Are there other family members that live with you? Do you have a guidance counselor or a teacher/ professor you feel comfortable talking to? I am asking because it sounds very much to me like this isn't about eating. Sounds to me like something serious is going on between you and your mom - or just with your mom and its affecting you.

    Your old enough to use the computer so your old enough to use a microwave and there alot of healthy things that can be cooked in a microwave (veggies, lean cuisine frozen dinners and stuff). But then - this really doesn't seem to be about eating. Sounds to me like you are wanting your mom's attention and for some reason she is unable to give it to you the way that you want it. Please do me one favor - don't let this get acted out through your eating!! Anorexia is a VERY serious mental illness and it literally KILLS 20% of the people who suffer from it. That's one out every five people with anorexia. Whatever is going on at home - your right, it's probably pretty bad and seriously in need of some attention and help. You DO have the power, no matter how old or young you are - to get the help you need without trying to control a bad situation through restricting your intake of food. Please talk to an adult that you trust and feel like you can really talk to about whatever is going on at home with your mom and you.

    Do I have an eating disorder?
    I think you have unusual eating habits rather than anorexia. Anorexia is a very dehabilitating disorder- an complete obsession with food and weight, and an irrational reaction to it. People with anorexia are disgusted with themselves and the food they should ingest.



    Firstly, people shouldn't say you look anorexic- they is completely offensive to you. Try to eat more healthily, you're just filling your body with salt and sugar and you'll end up quite ill. I don't know how old you are, so I can't say whether your mother is being irresponsible, but you seem pretty on board, so I think you should start sorting out your own healthy and nutritious meals. Also, drink plenty of water, especially now to flush out the high toxins you probably have in your body through eating so much sugar and salt.

    It's okay to eat little if you keep your body stocked up on vitamins and nutrians. most of these are provided at breakfast in cerial and milk.It is not an eating disorder but I would suggest taking a daily multi-vitamin so there are not any bad affects on your health from your poor eating habits.
    Sounds like obsessive compulsive almost. It also sounds like you're sad...which can lead to a lack of appetite. Just remember that every time you're skipping a meal, your body stores more of the next meal you take in because it goes into starvation mode. The best thing to do is to eat 3 small meals and snacks in between those...that helps keep your metabolism up!!
    hey hun! i suffered from an e.d. and that was kindof ow it started. you might be ok right now but i would FOR SURE get some help with that before it gets bigger and harder to control.

    Well, it does sound like you could eat more. But you definetely don't have an eating disorder. Next time your mom offers you fast food, take it. Even if you don't want "fat, greasy food" you could still eat. Especially since SubWay has that new fitness meal. And at McDonald's you can get salads. Start eating breakfast, and lunch, even if it consists of something small like a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. And don't just eat popcorn at night. Eat a meal. If your mom won't cook for you, try to whip something up yourself.

    Try eating more raw food. Raw fruit for breakfast is great for most people. If you consume dairy, I fruit smoothie might be a great option for you as well. This is really quick, easy and nutritious. Drink lots of purified natural spring water. Try to avoid processed sugar and flour like breads, cookies and cakes. Calories are not as important and eating real, unprocessed, nutritious food.

    it will work for a couple of days or weeks... depending on how patient you are. but after that patience has gone your going to gain a lot more weight than you have now. try a fair weight-losing style... try this:



    1.set a goal

    2.start today

    3.no shortcuts

    4.find your inspiration

    5.be happy



    example:

    1. lose 5lbs in a month (a moderate goal)

    2. i'm going to cut off eating junk food or eat less of it. shop for fruits and veggies. balance my eating habits with meat. stagger my eating times (eat around 5 times a day, breakfast being the largest meal and dinner being the smallest meal) in addition to that, try eating dinner before 6pm. and eating a large breakfast can be difficult at first... its kind of something that is practiced. and... exercise around 30 minutes a day (as simple as walking, jogging) and make sure you eat something before and after the exercise, don't exercise empty stomached and make sure the replenish yourself with lots of water... drink 8 glasses of water day or more, preferably... it will help a lot!

    3. no shortcuts! don't drink water and not eat anything. or exercise and not replenish yourself afterwards

    4. i'm losing weight and gaining lean muscle because i'm impressing my crush... or doing it for my children, for my family, for my friends, for me!

    5. be happy... after all that hardwork... always have some fun time. maybe after losing 5 lbs (your goal) celebrate by eating a burger :) and fries :) then start again to step 1 =)
    you should be having atleast 1500 per day and if you are excersiing you should have even more
    Well,in order to lose weight,you have to burn more calories than you eat. Bearing in mind that you burn around 60 calories per hour(that's one calorie per minute)when you sleep,and you also burn calories by just doing regular,everyday things. But the exercising obviously helps. You're diet seems alright to me,just keep eating a variety of foods,and exercise a bit more(about an hour a day)and you should get good results. :)

    You r doing opposite. Your BF should be heavy and dinner absolutely light.Calculate your BMR and then see how many calories u can eat.
    the key is to use more calories than you take in. i would cut the lemon cake out of diner, and the ketchup out of the subway sub, and add in like a peanut butter sandwich for lunch, and i would run for an hour, or 3 miles a day, whichever is faster.
    You need at least 1500 calories a day to stay healthy, and if you're an adult, you'll be losing weight with that intake too, if you do 40 minutes of exercise.



    I'd recommend changing your grocery shopping habits, and you'll eat better, guaranteed. A subway sub, cheetos, and fruit punch are all things to avoid, except to treat yourself. Buy more fruits and veggies. Vegetables are very filling, and don't have a lot of calories, and most importantly they are nutritious and good for you.

    Weight lost question. Please help me!?

    Well I'm 14 and am going out for my freshman football team. I'm not fat or anything, and I'm farely strong. You can kinda see my six pack, BUT I have a little layer of fat over it. Maybe like half an inch. I also have pretty big thighs, and Im thinking if i lose that weight, I can be bale to get faster. I eat very healthy, have an apple for breakfast, subway for lunch I get meat and greens, no mayo or bacon or anything un healthy like that. And for dinner I suually eat something healthy, or I sometimes dont eat much, just fruit and yogurt, that only happens on the days I do weight training at my school, because I ate a big lunch and my stomach is hurting from the excersise. Any tips for me? Please, I really need to lose some fat before football season starts

    You sound very fit and eat well, however have you ever counted caleries? you should eat 5-7 small meals a day. If you can go on line, or have a weight trainer help you decide how many caloiries you should eat a day,,according to your age , height,,if you take in more caloeies than you burn in a day, the extra calories turn to fat.Read labels, salad dreasing has tons of calories and high in carbs. Even some fruits manily cirtus is high in carbs, that turn to sugar and than fat, if not burned off thru the day. Than again if you dont eat enough youll lose your musscle tissue and thats NOT what you want to do.Drink a protien drink LOW in carbs and no more than 70 calories a drink. You can drink 2 a day.Also oatmeal is a great food ,no butter make with water, no sugar...perhaps a few frozen berries on top when microwaving it.Also try Egg whites in the am mix in some frozen spinich, a bit of salt.Dont eat after 7:oo pm or 3 hours before you go to sleep.also 12 raw ..no salt...almonds is 1 serving high in protein will be a good snack. Watch dairy products, no cheese, or cottage cheese. The yourgurts are good, always lowfat , check for 50calorie ones. Oh yes have fun with protein drinks. Get chockolate or vanila. You can add 1 half a banana or a few frozzen berries to it, and water. drink!!! Put a little milk say 3/4 cup , ice cubes, it will be like a milkshake...Read up on calories and charbohidrates Please stay away from sports drinks and sodas even diet ones...high in calories and charbs.     If you develop the coping skills to get through anything, then they are already developed the next time you need them to go through something else. Chances are... it won't be any worse, right? If it is, you're that far ahead...



    Consider people who have lost a child. What else could be worse? If they survive that, suddenly the "devastation" of losing a job or getting a divorce just doesn't seem as awful. You've already survived something horrific. Then your view, instead of being "OHMYGOD I lost my job!!!!" is "You know what? There's other jobs... I'll survive."



    Maybe it's part strength... and part perspective. You've developed the coping skills... and gained perspective.

    How healthy should I eat?

    I like to eat healthy and my family eats out 1 time a week for both breakfast an lunch. I don't know how healthy I should eat. Should I just splurge both those times, one time, none of the time?

    I eat like an animal! I'm 14 years old and @ normal weight but I eat wayy to much. For instance, today I ate:

    2 pancakes for breakfast

    during 3rd period a quesadilla, chips, and an oreo

    during 4th period some chicken/ rice, a 6inch subway, chips, and like 5 tea cake cookies.

    That doesn't seem too out of control to me for a 14 year old ... it's a lot for an older person , but many 14 years olds get away with that diet, if they're active. Rather than worrying about the quantity you eat, think about quality. Stay away from too much fatty food and candy; try to eat more fruit.     I should add that I am ~ 5 feet 7 inches tall and weigh 140 lbs at age 21. I am also on a workout routine that involves working out everyday (4 days weight lifting, 2 days cardio) with one day of rest. My diet throughout the day is on the light side as I only intake protein shake after workout n dinner afterwords, lunch is probably a 6" sub from subways.



    I just wanted to know if this was too much for breakfast as I am trying to mass gain for muscle building. If it is too much, what are the alternatives?

    The protein shake's main function is to promote weight loss by lightening your wallet. Supplement have little regulation, no clinical trials to show their efficacy, and many aren't safe.



    Milk has a lot of fat that you probably don't need. Eggs are okay if you can stand the taste.



    Eating balanced meals as recommended in the Harvard Eating Pyramid and exercising at your target heart rate is the best way to keep fit.

    Eating only subway effect me?

    I am trying to reduce weight and here is wat i am eating since a week.

    1-2 apples as breakfast,

    a 6" Sub for lunch,

    a 6" Sub for dinner,

    And lots of diet green tea(Arizona).. Nothing else other than these.



    When i say Sub it is Italian white bread with either Veggie patty or Oven roasted chic or Chic teryaki - with veggies and salt pepper - No cheese, No Sauces.



    Am i likely to loose weight with this diet?. (Or should i skip the dinner sub and eat some other fruit) Also i dont workout (Yea.. i'm both Busy and lazy :D)



    Currently im 235 lbs, 6 feet..



    Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

    Don't eat apples for breakfast, they are very acidic and not good to eat on an empty stomach. Try porridge with fruit mixed in. Also don't get white bread on your subs get wholegrain. Exercise too is one of the most important things and drinking lots of water. Good luck.

    Your body will eat it's muscle very quickly. You can test it by taking body composition tests. You must use a very accurate method-such as NIR or Hydro-weighing. I can lose two pounds of muscle in a day. Muscle is the first thing your body breaks down. If you have a smaller engine(muscle) then you need less fuel(fat) to keep it running. Therefore your body will strip the muscle first before it starts to deplete all the fat. (this is a simplistic answer)



    If you don't want your body to eat it's muscle you need to feed it protein. Complete protein. Protein from soy and other plants are not complete. They are either deficient in Amino acids or have them in the wrong concentrations/ratio for human muscle. You just aren't getting enough food. You need to eat more food more often. I wouldn't eat anything that you have listed.



    Eat more veggies and lean protein-chicken or fish. You should be eating at least 5 times per day.

    I have the same problem, and on top of which I have a stomach condition not helping at all. I swim 7000 yards a day, which is 2000 calories in that two hour period alone. So I need to get about 4500 calories in me a day, with poor appetite and usually bad digestion of food.



    What I do is make sure you get in as many meals as possible. Do breakfast, brunch (if possible at school), lunch, a meal after school, and meal at dinner time, and a small meal a few hours after dinner.     Yes, and no. There really aren't any fatty foods in there. The sub from subway is a healther choice than say McDonalds, but don't be fooled by their marketing schemes. There are still fats/ and TONS OF SODIUM in them. And add even more fat and calories if you have any sort of dressing/oil

    Do I need to change my current diet to the p90x diet?

    I am wondering if it is nessesary to swich from my current diet to the p90x diet as I go through the program.



    I do not eat a lot of fruit and vegetables (1-2 servings a day usually of carrots and apples). I eat a lot of nuts, low-fat milk, cerials (corn flakes), wheat bread, and other grains. I do not eat concentrated sugars like cokes, juices, or desserts. I also do not eat fried foods. I eat 5-6 items a day and do not eat very large meals.



    I have gotten use to this diet, I like most of the foods I am eating, they are easy to buy and pack for work, and it has worked really well for me so far. I have gotten myself into a routine where I can stick to it, lunch subway, breakfast fiber bar and so forth. I really do not want to reinvent again what I am eating and try to make all new eating habits.Do I need to change my current diet to the p90x diet?
    I have done 2 rounds of P90x, dropped over 5% body fat, and gained ~10 lbs of muscle. I did not follow the diet plan either time, because I too, eat a fairly healthy diet.



    The one thing I would recommend is paying attention to the guide in terms of how much protein you should be eating. Our usual habits don't end up being enough in most cases.

    It sounds like you're on the right track with getting rid of the candy. You might try taking your lunch to work instead of the burgers. The time you save will also let you do something else for lunch. Maybe go for a 30 minute walk around work.

    well the worst thing you can do is skp breakfast; try slim fast first thing when you get up to help fire your body's metabolism all day; if you don't then your body will be in starvation mode and hold onto everything you eat; i can't "eat" in the morning as it makes me nauseous but i found that a yogurt smoothy or a slim fast helps get that metabolism firing; and i know it's working cuz then i feel hungry all day; i just learned to make better choices on my snack foods; good luck!!

    Teriyaki has a lot of salt, and you should avoid salt like the plague, because it makes you retain water, which shows as weight on the scale. Ask for little mayo if any at all, extra mustard, and lettuce and tomato.

Also, trust me, if you were to eat just those things your gonna get real sick of them after about 3-4 days. The exercise sounds great though, just look up how many calories you need to eat a day to lose X amount of weight and you should be good. Also keep up with the healthy food choices =)



    do not eat less than 1500 calories because trust me you will be miserable, i tried that once and i was constantly hungry and it just lead to constant snacking.



    tip: snack on celery if your hungry (it has 0 calories) just dont add peanut butter beacuse that stuff has a butt load of calories in it!
    sure - but it's a waste of money and good food. Why not go to the supermarket and buy salad ingredients? Fresher, cheaper, nicer ingredients...
    You should just go to the store and buy boneless skinless chicken and bake or grill it and you can cut it up and put it on top of a salad with a bunch of veggies. You can also buy lean white meat turkey lunch meat and cut that up as well. I'd take a multi-vitamin because you need calcium and other vitamins that you are not getting from dairy products and fruit.
    While that may seem like a good plan, I think you're overdoing it. That may not be enough calories. I would say go ahead and eat the bread as long as its wheat or whole-grain. You may want to add some fruit along with the subs for more energy and vitamins. Fruit also contains complex carbohydrates, which are fine; its the simple ones like sugar that you want to avoid.     Healthy food is tricky. There's food that sounds good for you, but may not be.



    For example, the smoothie is a great start to your day IF it doesn't have sherbert or sorbet and stuff in it...because then that's just desert. You should make sure that smoothie is all fruit.

    There's tricks like that in your sandwich as well. It would SEEM that the sandwich is healthy. But to really be healthy, it should be on wheat bread (or make it a wrap to minimize carbs), and be a low fat meat (no salami, no roast beef etc. Turkey and chicken are best). The mayonaise isn't the best...but if you go light, it's no soooo terrible if there is only a little. Try substituting mayonnaise with the oil and seasonings that they offer.

    Regardless, it's a pretty healthy sandwich. Congratulations on making such a great lifestyle change for yourself!

    A little about me... 25 male.. 250 lbs... most of my weight is in my stomach... I want to loose weight. I just started going to the gym playing basketball and riding the bike their.



    But my biggest problem is my diet.



    * I never drink water

    * I drink soda a lot

    * I dont like seafood

    * I dont cook a lot

    * I eat fast food 1-2 times per week

    * I never eat breakfast

    * I eat late



    I wan't a routine that I can actually do and enjoy. Not some hard *** thing that I will loose interest in.



    If I have a structured plan I think it will work.



    Can I eat subway? Can I drink coke zero?



    It would be really cook if someone could give me a week.. day by day options for snacks, lunches and dinners ( no seafood)

    i think the key to a successful diet is following one you can stick to. you dont have to eat salad and fish every day to see results. you already know your weak points, now just how to adjust them. here are some ideas. i will go in order of your list. 1- carry a water bottle with you, or try flavored water. if i have a bottle with me, i tend to drink it.. flavored water is really quite delicious, and 0 cal. 2-diet soda instead of regular.. if you enjoy soda, thats ok, just make it a diet. there are too many calories in soda to drink it every day. 3- dont eat seafood. chicken breast and turkey breast are staples in my diet.. they must be grilled and skinless. 4- i hate to cook, i will cook 5 or 6 chicken breasts on the grill and put them in tuperware. this will allow me to only cook every other day instead of every day. 5- fast food is a killer, just make better choices. a grilled chicken sandwich w/o mayo from mcdonalds is a good choice, they also offer salads and such, just say no to the whoppers. 6- i need to eat breakfast, its good to if you can, if it is a matter of time, get something on the go such as an oatmeal bar. be careful with these as some contain alot of fat and sugars. read the labels. 7- eating late is also not the best thing in the world but sometimes thats how it is. again, just make sound choices, dont scarf down a pizza and wings and then go to bed, if you want to get more in depth here, send an email. i hope this helps for now. good luck

    How much weight will I lose ff I exercise every day for an hour, alternating between walking on a treadmill (15-20mins), the bike machine (15-20mins), and lifting 30 pound weights. My meal plan would be eating 2 eggs for breakfast, eating a lime for a snack or lunch, and possibly a 6-inch turkey sub from subway for dinner. Any idea?     the good thing about girls is you could look sexy as hell with little effort. forget the weights. doo girly pushups or regular ones do situps or crunches and do air squats and air lunges. try to do high reps and in a circuit type training. for example you would do 10 pushups then right after 20 situps and then 15 squars with no break. then take like a 1 min break and do it again. idk how many sets or reps you wanna do that will be completely up to you with your physical ability and desire.



    when your on the tread mill do this thing called hiit. you jog real slow for 1 min then sprint your butt off for 30 seconds then jog then sprint until you get to 15min or 20min. it burns soooo much more calories then just jogging at a slow pace.



    do the bike before as a warmup and dont go crazy hard cause the hiits will do there job.



    the pushups and stuff will develop nice lean muscle with out making you look like a dude. and when you get stronger you can do dips and pullups if you like.



    drink a lot of water and take a mulitvitamin and some protein if you want.

    If you was to have a home made fruit smoothie with natural yogurt every morning for breakfast and skinless chicken breast (grilled) with vegetables. and in the evenings have a fruit salad. and a glass of milk before bed plus around 1.5 litres of water a day. If you exercise an hour a day and go for a run (running is great it really works) You will lose weight!

    I have been doing this what i have said for 4 weeks now but i do a dvd workout which is an hour and i go for a h alf hour run every evening and ive lost 16 pounds! i was 11 stone 12 and im now 10 stone 10 i feel great but i still want to be 9 stone so i have 24 pounds to go lol.     What is the best protein protein for the buck?

    There are so many to choose from, Pro-NOS, Muscle Tech, Muscle Milk, GNC Whey, Optimum Whey, and Isopure. I've tried a little of each. I am 28, sit behind a desk all day and eat pretty healthy. I was in great shape while in college, plenty of time to workout and play. These days I'm a desk jockey and find more excused not to workout. I've decided to get back into the swing and raise my self esteem again. What's best, I wouldn't mind cutting some weight in the process. I'm 6'1", 215 lbs, athletic build that needs to be trimmed. I normally skip breakfast, have coffee all morning, 2 cups, lunch from Subway or salad and then dinner consisting of grilled burgers, chicken or hamburger helper, chicken stir fry, etc. I do have a generic men's multi-vitamin. Any suggestions? What do I need to get this off on the right foot? Its best for me to workout 3-4 days/week at the most. If I could sprint or do cardio 2 days and lift two days using a total body regiment, that would be ideal. Give your suggestions on eating, protein shakes as meals and a workout to get me motivated.     Try exercising first thing in the morning when you wake up, it doesn't have to be a full workout. Just some sit-ups or jumping jacks, etc. This will kick your metabolism into gear for the day and help burn fat all day long. Also, try eating a small meal every three hours, such as breakfast-3hrs-snack(carrots,watermelon,鈥?This way, your body is working all day long to burn off things it doesn't need. People think eating less times throughout the day will help them lose weight, except when you do that you put your body into conservation mode.     No, it may not be healthy but the quantity is fine.
    You didn't eat too much, it's just not very healthy and probably made you hungry faster.

    You need to start eating a more healthy breakfast, such as some sort of whole grain and some fiber-rich and full of protein meal.

    If you start your days off with a sugary breakfast, you'll find yourself being hungry shortly after. Sugar messes with you blood sugar and you'd probably come down on a sugar crash too.Did I ate to much for breakfast?

    No.... But where's the protein? You shouldn't eat so much sugar in the morning. Eat some eggs and some sort of whole grain.

    idk, just exercise like you want to and eat no more than 2,000 calories a day of healthy foods, you can lose that much weight in a month so after the first week if you didn't lose 2lbs increase exercise and lower consumption accordingly

    I don't really know what you had on your sandwich, but it sounds like you might not be getting enough fruits and veggies. you need 3-5 servings of each and you want to eat different things.



    And forget the cheetoes! There's not one thing that is good about cheetoes! :) (except the taste)



    Also, Nutri-grain bars aren't as healthy as they seem! They are loaded with sugar!!!!!



    Maybe for breakfast you should try yogurt and granola or oatmeal!

    Eat an apple in the morning rather than a nutrigrain bar, it's much more healthy and they work better than coffee for waking you up, other than that it seems good!
    Sounds OK in principle but you need to figure out some exchanges, meaning things that have about the same calorie count as what you have on your meal plan and substitute those in. Some cold water fish would be good, broiled or steamed but not fried. Broiled salmon with lemon and herbs is very tasty. It is safer to eat a variety of foods so that you stand a better chance of getting better coverage of all of the nutriants you need.



    You may want to change the cheetoes to air popped popcorn.

    Further, you can eat all of the green salad you want if you use a low calorie dressing.



    As for the exercise don't start out with 40 minutes on the elliptical trainer, you will need to work up to that.



    Elliptical trainers are excellent but take it easy on them. If you train to vigorously you can tear stuff up. And, you don't need to exercise everyday.



    The best exercise pattern is 4 days a week, every other day, a half-hour of moderately strenuous aerobic exercise. But, you should do ten minutes of light exercise and stretching to warm up, 20 minutes of serious exercise, and 10 minutes of cool down--light easy exercise. Anything else could be hard on your heart.



    It is best to lose about 2 pounds a week until you reach your desired goal. And, then you may increase somewhat the amount you eat, if you eat sensibly. But stick with the exercise. Of course you can increase the settings on the elliptical trainer as you feel comfortable but take it easy. You're out for fitness not to set any records.



    With that amount of exercise you may find that you must increase your calorie intake somewhat from what you have listed above. You want to build lean muscle mass and if you don't get enough calories you will lose fat and muscle mass. Not a good thing.



    It is a good idea to have your muscle mass to fat ratio measured. This can be done fairly accurately with calipers. Best to get weighed underwater if the facilities are present to do so. Keep in mind that you need some fat. If you lose too much fat it can be dangerous to your health. There are different fat to muscle ratio for men and women.



    The web site below has the recommended fat to muscle ratios but I don't know how good that calculator is. You may still want to get the calipers used.



    You didn't say how much you weigh or how old you are. If you have any doubts about your condition of health contact your physician.

    This doesn't sound to me like the ideal diet, you need to consume enough calories a day to fuel your body and 340 just isn't enough. If your really serious about weight loss I can tell you what I know.

    Eating a balanced diet is great, but it doesn't help everyone loose weight, been there tried that...

    The biggest problem for alot of people are carbohydrates, carbs when consumed help fuel your body, but eat an excess of them and the extra that your body doesn't use gets converted to sugars and then in turn to fat, that sits on your thighs. I have been having great success with the Atkins diet, I am still eating a wide variety of foods, but no complex carbs...like bread, rice and pasta, basically for the first 2 weeks you make sure you consume no more than 20grams of carbs a day, its hard at first, but as soon as your body gets used to not having it, you will find it easier.

    No u need to eat at least 1,200 to 1,500 calories a day NEVER UNDER THAT AMOUNT

    if u eat under that your body goes in starvation mode and makes it harder to lose weight.



    The best way is a low calorie diet like the one above and exercise-cardio %26amp; weight trainging-the more muscle u build the more calories u burn.

    Eating healthy is making me feel ill?

    I'm trying to lose 40 lbs (over about a year, because I know it takes a while) so I have started eating much healthier. I usually have an apple or an orange for breakfast, a light subway sandwich for lunch, a salad or grilled chicken for dinner, and veggies for a snack. Since I have been doing this, I have been losing weight, but I've also been feeling shaky, tired, and dizzy a lot. What could this be?Eating healthy is making me feel ill?
    Your body is just adjusting to the new food...it is not necessarily a bad thing, as long as you are taking in the right amount of calories (for losing weight, I'd say 1500-1800 but that all depends on your metabolism and daily functions).



    If vegetarians start eating meat and fatty foods, they will get very sick and throw up, while people who eat McDonald's double cheeseburgers a few times a week could stomach anything. The same thing goes for people who eat bad suddenly switching to all veggies and lean meats. It is simply your body getting used to the new and different nutrients and foods, breaking them down and using them for energy. Just fight through it - you're definitely on the right track. Make sure you're drinking enough water, too. That helps with many things.

    It has NOTHING to do with not getting the right nutrients - you're eating fruit and vegetables every day! The only thing I would change with your current diet is to add some carbs for breakfast - it is the foundation meal for your day, and just a piece of fruit may not be enough. Try adding some whole wheat (low/zero sugar) oatmeal/cereal and/or some whole grain toast with a light jam. Just make sure that for all your meals, you stay away from anything processed - or white - white bread, white pasta, etc. Stick to whole wheat/whole grain foods for more energy, fiber and protein and all around better carbs.



    You should be getting at least 1/3 of your daily calories for breakfast - your body has been fasting for 7-8 hours while you were sleeping, and eating a larger breakfast will help you from feeling hungry the rest of the day. I would also add a glass of milk (organic is best) - good, slow absorbing protein.

    Subway and Wendy's are good fast food restaurants if you're looking for health conscious menu items. At Subway, choose honey whole wheat or whole wheat bread, and lean meat subs (turkey, ham, roast beef, chicken) with little/no cheese and lots of veggies and light sauces. Skip the cookies and NEVER drink soda. As far as Wendy's goes, they have great chicken sandwiches (their spicy chicken is among my favorite, anywhere) and some nice salads and alternative sides to the dreaded french fries.
    You are not getting the correct nutrients.



    Take a multi-vitamin with lunch.



    Eat some fruit and some Irish Oatmeal for breakfast.



    For lunch eat your sandwich as well as some yogurt and granola.



    For dinner eat a salad with chicken or rice with a lean meat, like fish.

    breakfast is way too small. an apple or orange is only about 100 calories. you need protein and carbs or protein and fats in each meal.
    Your carbohydrates are too low and you are approaching hypoglycemia. Eating like this is NOT healthy and here is why:



    Carbohydrates are the primary fuel source for the brain and the entire nervous system, as well as being the only fuel source for your red blood cells and kidneys.

    Make sure that you are drinking enough juice and water. Take a daily vitamin (one of those multi vitamins) to make sure you are not deficient, and make sure that you are eating enough of the healthy food.



    Even if there is nothing wrong with the food you are eating, you could still be starving yourself. If you are only eating one apple or orange for breakfast, that is not enough. Also make sure you are getting protein. Eggs are very good and healthy for protein.



    A piece of fruit and a whole boiled egg would be better for breakfst than just a piece of fruit.



    One time I was on a diet my hair actually started falling out because I was not getting the right nutrients. I started taking a multiple vitamin and it grew back. I did some research and I was probably not getting enough A and E.
