20% of the population in Blackburn is Muslim. Does that mean that itis right for both local Subway stores to stop selling bacon and sausage breakfast subs.
I was offered turkey ham instead of bacon - are they having a joke.
Subway says that the decision taken of which items be stocked is the responsibility of the franchisee.
I accepted years ago that I wouldnt be able to get a ham %26amp; pineapple pizza in Blackburn, but taking away bacon and sausage is TOO FAR

I love bacon and sausage subs. Something needs to be done about this. We need to start a riot, or at least start a facebook group about it and see if we can't get hundreds of thousands of people to join!
Considering it is a franchise it's completely up to the franchisee what they sell, and their business will survive or not based on those decisions.
You wouldn't think of trying to force any other restaurant to stock a particular product would you? Why not try to lobby your local Italian to sell kebabs? Same deal here - it's their business and they can sell what they like.
If the business fails due to lack of sales they would only have themselves to blame; if their business does well then they have exploited a gap in the market and good luck to them.

I think the reason you can't get a ham and pineapple pizza is because it is disgusting, not because it has pork on it. I swear, what is it with you Brits and those awful toppings? Barbecue chicken? Ugh. Sorry, I'm too traditional.
As for the Subway not offering that particular sub, ASK WHY they don't. If they say it is because of Muslims, go somewhere else. In addition, complain to Subways corporate offices.
Lastly, stop bending over backwards to submit to the will of Muslims! I mean, what the hell is wrong with you people? You're being assimilated!
The franchisee is likely a muslim. Best not to eat from there any more, halal is an evil method of slaughter that contravenes the EEC animal welfare codes but one that we are powerless to stop because of religion. The influence of this bloody religion (cult) has gone too far and if these people are not careful there will be an uprising. However, the government is investing billions in a brainwashing programme in our schools to try to ensure this does not happen.

Is there another subway in your area? It might be because that the owner of that franchise is muslim? Years ago I was a waitress at Pizza Hut. We were a franchise. A new one bought us, and took out the alcohol there because it was against their religion. I would just look into other subways, because bacon is far too popular (and way too good!) for Subway to take it off their menu! As well as possibly other pizza places for that ham %26amp; pineapple pizza!
Um yes that good old British favourite for breakfast Turkey ????? Give me bacon and sausage any day. Write a letter to them requesting they keep bacon and sausages on the menu, just to see ie they will. If not go somewhere else, they lose your business.
What an absolute disgrace which should serve as a wake up call for the whole country. I had no idea that things were this bad. It's one thing to allow them to have their own outlets which sell their food, but it's quite another expect us to adopt their ways. I am disgusted!
I hear you.I have a pizza place near me that doesn't have ham.I think it's Jewish owned.They are not being realistic by not offering what the people want.
become a franchisee and sell non-halal then. or move away from blackburn. or beg and beg the current shop to get yummy bacon back!
Probably the franchisee is a Muslim, find another Subway that isnt Halal.

Wasnt it blackburn where the builders put a pigs head in the footings for a new mosque? Or was it Nelson? Stupid having no bacon though! I wouldnt use the shop im sure you could get bacon elswhere.

Janie I think you will find that Halal and Kosher methods of slaughter are no worse than ours. I am an engineer in the food industry and have worked in European abatoirs as I have Halal and Kosher. In the latter the animal is killed by having its throat slit with a very very sharp knife as this is being done the slaughter man is saying a prayer for it and it is treated very humanly the animal Mostly sheep and cattle seem to fall asleep. However in the majority of european abatoirs they are stuned using high amperege electricity acroos the temples and then bled to death. Cattle are usualy despatched with a captive bolt fired into the brain and then a piece of wire is inserted to "Mix up the brain". Personaly there is no real nice way to kill an animal but the best method I have seen is called the heavy gas method where they are put into a pit and enveloped in a CO2 atmosphere and they do fall asleep before bleeding. Please get your facts right.
