Is it okay to skip lunch?

For breakfast, I eat a turkey sandwhich with water

I always skip lunch.

for dinner, I eat a 6 in subway with wheat bread, chicken breast, shredded cheese, lettuce, and ranch.

is it ok to skip lunch?

How many calories do I take in a day if that is what I eat every day?Is it okay to skip lunch?
Your current diet is sadly deficient in fruits and vegetables, heavy on the protein and carbs. You can figure out your own calorie count, Subway in particular provides a handout with the calorie counts, and you can get the rest for the package labels. No, it's not okay to skip lunch. Do you run your car on empty? Would you expect it to work as well? So why try to run your body that way? Your meals provide fuel for your body to operate on, glucose and oxygen are the two things your brain needs a constant supply of to operate at optimum levels. A starved brain doesn't learn, retain information or retrieve information nearly as efficiently as a well fueled one. You need at least 1000 calories per day, more for an active lifestyle. Your current diet is lacking in many nutrients. YOu aren't meeting your calcium requirements, nor your iron requirements more than likely. You also will be lacking in vitamin A and C, probably E as well. If you are intent on eating one extremely light meal per day, it would be better for it to be dinner. You should be eating the majority of your calories for breakfast and lunch, so you have fuel for the most active part of your day. You are actually eating rather reverse of the optimum way, and skipping a meal isn't a good idea. You should add in at least two fruits, and several veggies. The lettuce on that sub doesn't even qualify as one serving of veggies really. If you are confused as to how to arrange a diet that will suit your needs, then you would do best to talk with a dietician. That way you can devise a good balanced diet that will provide the energy you need, from foods you will eat, and a diet you can stick with. Your current habits are going to leave you with weak bones, gum disease, constipation, and skin problems. I suggest you take a hard look at it, and reconsider not only eating lunch, but eating a little more healthy diet all the way around.

It would be a good way to eat if you would have a little snack for lunch - like some fruit and cereal or a granola bar or something.
If you had good breakfast %26amp; dinner, its kinda ok to skip lunch
u r probably eating less than 700 cals a day i think u need to be eating at least another 500cals
The meals you do eat sound pretty good - make sure it is whole wheat or whole grain bread though - just plain wheat bread is refined junk, you want complex carbs. So those are ok, but you need to add like 2-3 more healthy small meals/snacks throughout the day. No, you don't need a big lunch meal - 5 small meals thoughout the day (healthy ones) is a good program. If you skip meals, or only eat twice a day that far apart, your body tries to start conserving what you have in your system because it thinks it's starving basically, the result is your metabolism slows down - which is a bad thing. You need a lot of small snack/meals to keep that metabolism kickin' all day long. Skipping meals is not a diet plan, it is counterproductive. Good luck.
A recent study showed that what matters is the total calories you eat, so this means whether you eat mini-meals all day or one or two big meals makes no difference! Crazy uh?

That said, we need food for energy! And for thinking! So unless you are not able to eat lunch because of a good reason, perhaps you would be serving your body and brain better if you did not skip it.

I know people who do the same thing you do, and they are healthy and perfectly fine, but they get some heck of a headache or feel dizzy when they do not eat luch! And then they gorge at night and have trouble sleeping (not nice).

if you only eat twice(including snacks=none) then, no.
Even if you ate lunch your eating habits are terrible. Where are you fruit and veggied? Shredded lettuce counts for nothing. You are in no way getting enough calories for anyone to be healthy on, but I get the impression that is not your concern. EAT MORE.
Where are the fruits and veggies in this diet? The iceberg lettuce they use in these fast food places barely qualifies as a vegetable and it's nutritional value is almost nil. I'd worry that you're not getting the proper nutrition you require.

Now that's I've said that, based on what you've written there I also think you're not eating enough and your calories for the day are way too low. I would guess you're hovering somewhere around 1000 calories a day and this is too little. I would suggest you speak to a nutritionist or to your doctor and see what they recommend for you to do about this.
